What a great game for him to see! I think I saw Qudus behind our bench too. Wonder if Cole was watching!?!?

I was pro Ace 2wks ago. Even over Cole (I don't think he is a true option). But 25pts in a very competitive league is hard to overlook. If Davis is a true 6'2" he gets my vote....

I think Davis is 5'11...but there seems to be a special quality about this kid...

Yeah watching vids on him, he definitely has an elite jumper and quick. He is very small though.

So was Kemba Walker (someone with whom PE is very familiar), just saying...

He's listed as 5'11 further up in the thread...but more importantly if you look at the pictures he's in it seems pretty accurate...as one example, I think Coach Waheed is 6'3 and you can see the height difference...I wish he were 6'2 but then more "bluebloods" would likely be involved...but the kid can play and PE has a good eye for that...

Even if they are exaggerating I doubt they would be giving him 3 inches. He looks in the 6'0-6'1 range. he seems to be a scorer supreme. I watched the playoff game last year of him going against Cole and Moses Brown that his team won and he had a game high 33 points in. He just makes ridiculously tough shots. He is like those mid major guards that haunted us back in the day but his range is in the building and to have 1000 points in 2 years of high school is impressive. I would hope to get him and Ace. RJ seems more combo but has point leanings. I think this was his first year being the starting PG, he was the two guard or PG by committee in that game i watched.

I wouldn’t be surprised if the recruiting sites referenced above have outdated information when most sites either don’t rank him or have him outside the top 200. 247 just moved him up to around #100 yet they still have a scouting report that lists him as 5’7”.

I looked up several sites and most have him at 5'11, one at 6'0 As much as I'd also love to have him be taller, wishing isn't going to make it so.
OTOH, I bet there were a lot of folks wishing Drew Brees, Russel Wilson nd Baker Mayfield were taller. Different sport, but same idea. Yes, the ideal NFL QB might be 6'5, 230 Lbs, but the guys who have the "it" factor and can get it done? That's who you want.
RJ is getting it done. AND... things are moving very quickly with him and GU. Fingers crossed.

Want players with the “it” factor, whether it’s an undersized tough-as-nails scoring guard or a garbage-man-enforcer-type forward who has a nose for the ball and knows how to dial up the intensity to max volume.

Super smooth and very good in a fast-paced transition game. Manages to score at the rim and can get his shot off. Deadly pull-up. He was a dominant player as a sophomore on a team with Alan Griffin (frosh at Illinois right now) that won the very competitive CHSAA (when it had Moses Brown and Cole at Molloy AND Kofi Cockburn at CTK among many others -- Joe Toussaint at Hayes is still there) AND the Federation cup over Long Island Lutheran in a VERY competitive game. Kid can play, has the "it" factor and fits us very well. We shouldn't avoid him because we already have shorter guards; we should look to recruit an additional bigger more defensive-minded guard/wing that can guard bigger guys like Trawick (although we will have Jiggy for that for next year too).

Alans brother Adrian Griffin Jr. Wow. That kid is special, Got a college body as a Sophomore. He plays like his dad too. He definitely will be a top 25 player of the 2021 class. He impressed me alot watching RJ's video

If Stepinac has all this talent on their team, why are they 11-15 overall and 7-10 in the league? They appear to have Alpha Bangura's son on the team as well to go with Adrian Griffin's son. Point guards like quarterbacks are judged on wins and losses. I'm not saying the kid is not a winner, but I'd say further inspection as to why they've lost so much should be looked into.
