YESS! The steals was the one thing I've been disappointed with-- he looked like such a ball hawk in HS. Today we saw the steal and turn it other way James that could really make this an exciting team! We were just talking earlier this week how our TOs forced was among the worst in the country. If we can force steals like tonight going forward, it certainly will take pressure off our D (as obvious as that may sound).

Damn, I loved the look on Coach Steels face when he knew it was over: you could tell that he was sure that he had this one. Nope, this is a different team bud.

11-7 does'n look impossible now. Maybe just improbable. But I still say 11-7.

Obviously a terrific win -- and a necessary one to hopefully keep building interest and momentum.
LeBlanc was excellent and having both him and Govan available against a zone is a wonderful thing.
We shot the lights out in the second half (of course they did too). That'll happen. And you sure as hell better win when it does! I mean when Jagan hits two and Trey hits a huge one.....
As Lappas said (and others here did too), the last few possessions on offense were really bad. Like so bad that if we had lost that game it's all we'd be talking about here. No ball movement. No touches for Govan in the post (or early in the shot clock away from the post).
Some huge, huge hustle plays. Greg....James....Mac earlier in the second half with the pass after he was falling out of bounds. And the big offensive board put back.

Coming on strong mid-season makes those early season giveaway games sting. If we could have pulled off Cuse and taken care of business with SJ and Xavier the first times, this season would be squarely tourney bound.

(yes I know you have, but bare with me). Merely holding the ball for 30 seconds on three straight possessions with one possession lead is not really bad. Its not even BAD. Rushing a bad shot with 5 seconds is bad. Turning it over outside the three point line after holdng it for 20 seconds for an easy two for the other team is really bad for us. Rushing the bad shot that leads to a block or rebound so bad that it leads to easy fast break is REALLY bad. What we did was simply not good. Less than ideal. But, they could have, and have been, much much worse.

Gotta give credit to coach....pulled all the right strings. He knew how to push pace, employed a timely press, attacked the zone, used guys like Mosely and Mourning masterfully and had Pickett in at the end for perhaps the biggest bucket of the game.

Would be interested to know first vs second half tempo. The fact the entire game was a 66 makes me think the first half was played at an Uber low level.

This, plus 100. For all the crap he gets when we lose or are losing, he deserves as much praise when we win.

Gutty win after a mostly flat 1st half. Leblanc and Akinjo were fabulous tonight on both ends of the court.
Now there will be a little hype for the Super Bowl Sunday matchup with Nova.

This team is beginning to be more than the sum of its parts! The team is learning how to win by scraping. We do need to improve defensively but they are working hard and getting results!

19 and a half "Hoyas Win" from Rich Chvotkin! I think Rich was so relieved that we hung on that he just kept rattling off that beautiful phrase that he has made famous....
