He isn’t coming to Georgetown or he would have committed he not interested in coming because the Hoyas have not been to ncaa in 4 years,it’s killing recruiting. Need to get better people not exactly the top players but good players that has the right attitude and any signs of repeated instances of getting in trouble stay away like Alexander was red flag 🚩 should stayed away from him to begin with Ewing has to take some blame for bringing him to Georgetown.red flag was there. Get good kids that want to be here and stay away from any red flags players. I don't know the kid at all but, from what I've read/seen, if Ryan chooses to go elsewhere, it'll be a choice significantly based on consciously not going where his dad went. Fairly common among parents/kids. Regardless of where he ends up, he's family and I'll be rooting for him to not only succeed but to excel.

It is really amazing reading these posts. You wonder if they are actual fans of the program. We aren't getting anyone, We shouldn't recruit 5 star guys, just local. Staff is out recruiting their asses off and it is not good enough for some people. It is different times then the 80's and 90's. All the Ewing bashers who blast him on recruiting, coaching will never be happy. He Has not had their fu team since Mac went down, then Yurt, and the team is still in NCAA hunt. SMH This ☝🏿

This staff is 0 for whatever when it comes to recruiting top 50 kids, has NOT developed good enough relations in the DMV with kids or coaches and has watched talented local kids leave without giving the Hoyas a sniff. Yet for some reason, they believe a kid in Minnesota or NY who will end up at a BB with his hand open is worthy of spending time, effort and money on. Edit: still in the NCAA hunt he said.

Zero for one trillion for top eighty guys. Only two guys that are remotely close, Akinjo and Pickett. Akinjo is gone, and Pickett is... Pickett. TBD on Sibley. Anyone happy with the recruiting needs to take off the Hoya tinted glasses. It has been bad. We are making three star guys look decent in large part because we are giving them minutes no other high major program would be. And while the staff is clearly working hard, that doesn’t mean they’re succeeding. Perhaps they’re doing a good job finding diamonds in the rough, but results wise nothing has materialized at this point. We need a shake up to the recruiters. No way to get around that. Ryan is the perfect recruit to get the ball rolling. Start the 2021 class off with some momentum by signing a top fifty guy beloved by the fan base and go from there. But I don’t see us at any of his games or anything.

Ewing is doing a magnificent job of recruiting. Why shouldn't he try to recruit the 4 and 5 star recruits? How many HOF coaches are competing against Ewing? There are a few quality players like Cisse who have told Rivals and others that Ewing is his favorite NBA legend. The kid's a 7' center. Why wouldn't Ewing believe that this kid would want to come to GU to mentor and prepare him for an outstanding NBA big man career? Same could be said for Holmgren who brags about texting with Ewing on a regular basis. Ewing's a coach with a huge heart that most quality recruits like Beard, Sibley, Clarke and Harris obviously found to be compelling in their decision to choose GU. I think Ewing should continue to shoot for the best. Statistically, he's going to find kids like Beard and Clark who will choose Ewing for the right reasons... development of character and moral compass. Ewing is superior in the most important qualities for role modeling. What's wrong with guys that talk Ewing down for pursuing the best recruits? Ewing couldn't get to the front door of Zion Williamson, but Zion's not the only great player in the land.

There is so much wrong in this post I honestly don’t know where to start. This is delusional fan speak, the type you get from a 17 year old kid. I believe in Pat and feel in time he could be an excellent coach and recruiter. But he’s trying to bite off way more than he can chew.

Credit to Pat and the staff for landing them but they were decommits who made a quick decision about schooling and basketball. They weren’t long drawn out recruitments where both sides got a better feel for what the other had to offer.

It sounds like Ryan has really developed into a great player and he plays a position of need for the Hoyas. I think initially the Hoyas were probably slow playing him, thinking his Dad would keep him interested in Georgetown and they could see how he grew as a player, and it sounded like he was somewhat frustrated by that, but at this point he should be a main target for the staff and they should be treating him like the highly rated recruit he has become. Having the legacy connection can not hurt in this situation, but the staff should not expect that they will land this player without putting in the required effort and showing Ryan the love he deserves. I hope he becomes a Hoya.

We didn’t land Ewing’s kid or Jarren Jackson’s. No legacy top-100s.

Flange was Alexander I didn’t say Ryan,I said he wasn’t coming to Georgetown,he has nothing to say about Georgetown he isn’t coming, recruits want to win and it’s getting harder because Hoyas isn’t winning bottom line.we getting top 300 recruits instead of top 100 we get 1 top 100 and 4-5 top 300 or unranked that’s loosing for you. Jt3 win was winning was getting top 100 recruits anyway but he is reason team is where it is not Ewing he inherited a train wreck and the train wreck this year sets them back 3 years.like starting over again what it is so expect 2-3 years to see improvement again. Rebuilding starting next year completely rebuild. Bad luck and risky recruiting has the completely rebuilding again

Clean programs is getting harder to land top 100s. It's hard to be clean and do this in today's game.
Our break will come when one of those young men decide to be break that cycle and take that chance on us. Then we win and more will be willing to give it a chance.
Kids like Ryan may give it a shoot because he and his family are not after the perks and it will be harder for certain coaches to get him because of the perks. This one will come down to where Ryan wants to go.

Visiting this week. He is his own man and will be making his own decision...and is not basing the Hoyas on what they are today but rather what they will look like in 2021. Next two recruiting classes are going to be very important. This all being said, my sense is that certain members of the family would love for him to be a Hoya.

Would be an excellent way to start our 2021 class off on the right foot with a top 50 recruit that is immediately beloved by the fanbase and instills some life into the program.

Will he be the one to bring us back from the depths of the Big East? I think he will and I think his commitment will bring other good recruits to help him do it

The idea that top guys only go to winning programs is a false narrative at this point. Anthony Edwards is a lottery pick, top 3 if not #1 in the upcoming NBA draft and he went to Georgia. I know he's from Georgia so that was probably the biggest contributing factor but they aren't necessarily a basketball powerhouse. Okoro at Auburn, Okungwu at USC, Haliburton at Iowa State, Jaden McDaniels at Washington, Daniel Oturu (Minn) are all projected first round picks and Okoro is the only one that sees an NCAA tournament game this year. I think all 4/5 star guys recruited by the blue bloods, except Haliburton who was a 3 star with not much in the way of big time offers. I do think making a strong pitch to top guys in your own backyard is important and there are plenty of guys that can prove that point, but Georgetown is in a tough spot because the university has insulated itself from the rest of the DC area. If I was a local MD or VA guy, I'm looking at UMD or UVA.
