Man can you imagine a Patrick Ewing type and a Hakeem Olajuwan type in the starting line up at the same time? Well that's what you would get from Mutombo and Q in the line up at the same time as both guys model their games or their games are similar to the two most dominant college big men of all time! I'm excited!! Welcome home, Ryan. We hope you have great success at the Hilltop. As for the above, say what? Lew Alcindor (Kareem) and Bill Walton say hello.

Congrats to Ryan. I can't wait until after your freshman year and how many of the fans here will be speculating how you are going to leave for the NBA! As for the silly Fab 5 comment. I would rank just the past 10 years of 5 or more person classes like so 2011 - Guess the lack of true PG could turn some off but pure talent wise they are it. 2014 2018 - If you include Yurt 2021 2020 2019 - maybe more talented than 2020 just couldn't play on the court as 5 Yeah such a silly comment. “As close to a a ( not THE) Fab Five as Georgetown has ever come: 5 freshman, in one class, that could form a complete (1-5 team) as freshmen. Never once said the class would be equal or even in the class of the Michigan FAB 5. But nobody reads anything. They just get their patties twisted and start blasting. Jerome Williams was a JUCO TRANSFER. So that class could not “BE AS CLOSE TO A FAB 5” as we have ever come. Patrick, Ralph, Bill Martin and Anthony Jones (with nothing else) would be. A better recruiting class than 2021 with Aminu. Iverson’s class as well. 2011? Jabril was not a damn point guard. Stop with your MESS. Tyler Adams? Rim protector...maybe PACIFIC RIM protector all he did was thro chairs in CHINA. Name the post 1972 incoming freshman class where there was a Center, PF, SF, SG and PG that would equal this class with Aminu. Been on this board since the days of sweating Khalid El Amin decision and w not be punker by morons.... 1) never compared them to MICHIGAN FAB 5. So jack off. 2) nobody has named a Georgetown class closer to a all freshman every position class.... just calling me a fool when I have forgot more Georgetown basketball than most. 3) this board is just a bunch of unhappy people. Been here since the start but leaving for good.

Been here since the start but leaving for good. Just because Jabril wasn’t a pure point doesn’t mean he couldn’t/ didn’t play some pg. You play the position you can defend, first and foremost. And Jabril didn’t have great handle because he was so big, but he could handle the other aspects, considering he played a lot of pg throughout his life before he got to GU.... regardless. With Jabril at the point that class is still better. Maybe agree to disagree, but no need to act like your opinion is the most valid and ignore all the people who have pointed out the flaws in your reasoning. And Tyler Adams has a heart condition, but he was (much) better at the same stage than Mutombo. Don’t get it twisted. Also, not sure how people disagreeing with a debatable opinion amounts to people being unhappy, but you do you. You’re entitled to your opinion.

For college I wouldn't even consider Olajuwan top ten. Not ahead of the UCLA guys, Bill Russell, Ewing, Wilt, Laettner, Sampson, Elvin Hayes, etc.

I am blown away by Ryan and his thoughtful, confident communication skills. Really impressive. His parents must be deeply proud of him. What a stroke of good fortune that he is a Hoya!!
And through it all you can sense his competitiveness and urgency to show his abilities as he helps with the GU revival.
Hoya Saxa baby!!!!!!

Isn't it refreshing to hear how in tuned he is with Big East and Georgetown basketball culture and history? So great to have a kid like him and the others who know what it is all about being a Hoya and being a part of the Big East. I heard Jordan Riley speak the same about Hoya's basketball and what it means to help bring them back to prominence. Akinjo, Leblanc and Mac, I heard them speak the same sentiments. It is so wonderful to hear the kids speak about how they want to help bring the program back.

And his basketball philosophy for winning so closely mirrors Coach Ewing's. Makes sense, considering what Coach Thompson passed down to both his father and Coach Ewing. Seems like everyone is on the same page. Good things to come!

If Aminu signs with Georgetown the incoming class would be as close to a “FAB 5” as we have ever come. PG Riley G Beard SF Aminu PF Billingsley C Mutombo. They wouldn’t all start a la Michigan’s Fab 5 but it would be GREAT to have such a well-rounded class. Switch Riley and Beard... but why stop there...if Aminu and Baldwin come it would be the best Fab 5 GTown has ever had and may even rival UM...lol... Aminu, Riley, Baldwin, Billingsley and Mutombo....

At times maybe a tad bit overly optimistic... but what else would you want from a high school player? That type of positivity is infectious and I love that he is his own man. He is going to breathe some much needed personality into this program.

Ryan, If you read your thread, here is some constructive criticism. You are articulate, but you made some pretty basic leadership errors in this interview. You and Aminu would make a powerful tandem? I want Aminu too, but what are 11 other Hoya players going to think about that comment. It was disrespectful to your recruiting class and all of your teammates. It takes more than 2 players to accomplish the goals you laid out. And your recruiting classmates seem more than capable. You may have the highest ranking, but you have more than enough competition to be the most impactful player just from that group. You expect early playing time? How do you think Qudus, Tim, and Malcolm ae going to respond to that? Maybe Qudus will move on to the NBA by then, but that still leaves Tim and Malcolm. You did yourself no favors with your future center teammates. If I am Malcolm, my new goal is to plant your arrogant ass on the bench so you have a great seat to watch me play. You are a talented player. We are glad to have you, but let’s try not alienate more than 50% of your teammates in your next interview. You will be part of a team. It is time to start thinking more about we than me.

Are you really schooling perhaps one of the most article and well spoken kids we've seen come to the program perhaps ever with this jibberish? Wow!! Do you have plans to do this with every incoming recruit or saved this just for Ryan??

Blue&Gray, The Venn diagram of ‘articulate and well-spoken’ and ‘leadership skills’ don’t overlap as much as you would think they do. Ryan was exceptional for articulateness and well-spokeness (and I acknowledge that in my post)..and he made some boneheaded comments from a leadership perspective. To accomplish his goals the leadership will be as important as the basketball skills. I will be happy to constructively call out the egregious leadership errors I see when I see them throughout the program.

There is a difference - a huge difference - between expecting playing time, and demanding/requiring it. Virtually every freshman these days believes that he is good enough time get some time even as a freshman, and therefore "expects" time get some minutes. That does not mean that he doesn't recognize how much work he has to do. I did not hear even the suggestion of any "disrespect" to his teammates, and I can't imagine that the current mindset of our players and our incoming recruits sees it that way in the slightest.
