Since he has now visited, he deserves his own thread to follow. Looks like a guy with some skills, and great potential with the right big-man coach!
Come join the resurgence Osun!

The dude looks like a fast riser/sleeper type. He has the athleticism and I trust Pat believes he has the work ethic to go with. I'd rather save scholarships for '19 and '20 but a bird in hand alway wins. Plus we need the depth next year, even if he is limited right away.

I concur....we're looking at plenty of great prospects, but none have committed.

Crickets.
But there was widespread consternation when Akinjo failed to trumpet our praises after his visit.
So we have that going for us. Which is nice.

Agreed, Frasier. Also, as long as Bryce Golden's mom doesn't tweet out anything positive about Osun's visit, I like our chances!

I will overlook the misspelling of my board name and blame it on your autocorrect. My name is an homage to former Hoya great (okay, former Hoya kinda good) Mike Frazier, not the long running award winning TV sitcom (which I still watch in reruns).

I know who Mike Frazier is, Frazier (corrected), however, I didn't appreciate that your board name was in his honor. The association is now committed to memory!

Syracuse insider is saying it's between St Bonnie and Cuse fwiw.... Another insider was very concerned that Osunniyi visited with HOF big man Patrick Ewing as his last visit. We are still in this.

I hope Coach continues the process until it ends. The you man looks like a great candidate and we must pursue to get the best tslent possible while it is available and adjust our recruiting based upon the results. There are a lot of excellent prospects out there but the arent ours until they sign up and show up. Go for the close.

Unless Govan is gone....pass! If Govan returns I doubt this young man would be interested in redshirting as minutes look to be very very limited. If he is okay with redshirting as a possible option then absolutely as he looks like a pretty good long term prospect.
Coach Ewing knows all the moving variables and what he his doing so we will see what happens...

I will never understand this board's obsession with redshirting. Why can't he just come and play a limited role as a freshman?

I get it in terms of letting kids develop and not waisting a year since they're most likely not going to play, but question for anyone. What Hoya player do you think a redshirt year would have benefitted? Personally I can't think of many. Maaaaaybe Sims, or Trawick, but I don't think either guy would have wanted to do that.

Coach Ewing knows all the moving variables and what he his doing so we will see what happens... timelines are different. Govan has until June to make his mind if he wants to return or not. Osun is making his decision next week. So we aren't really in a position to pass to be honest. Wherever he goes it will be in a limited position. If chooses Syracuse he might not even play. Boehiem usually only plays 7 guys. Both of Syracuse bigs are returning.

What Hoya player do you think a redshirt year would have benefitted? Personally I can't think of many. Maaaaaybe Sims, or Trawick, but I don't think either guy would have wanted to do that. Hayes should have been redshirted from the jump along with Domingo as neither looked like they were going to get time before the 2012-2013 season. Hayes ended up getting his redshirt year minus a hand full of games. Maybe Domingo doesn't loose his confidence. Trey Mourning should have been redshirted from the jump his freshman year as playing time was sparse. Looks like he may end up getting his redshirt year if some reports are true. I could also make a valid argument that Kaleb Johnson should have been redshirted as he barely played at all his freshman year particularly once conference play started, but that would have been a tougher call. I'm just against waisting a year of eligibility when you know the athlete isn't going to play much if at all. They could use that year to develop and get stronger and be impact the following season while making recruiting for the next class easier. Sims as a 5th year player alongside Otto Porter's coming out party could have been special...
