Pass...save the scholly for 19! With Govan, Mourning, and Carter don't see the need. If Govan leaves I still say pass. Sometimes it's as important who you don't sign as it is who you do sign...
My prediction is St. Bonaventure.

My prediction is St. Bonaventure. I can't argue with your prediction and have no idea if he is a good fit for the Hoyas. But extra scholarships are a bit of "fool's gold" and while simply filling the roster doesn't make any sense if the staff wants a kid i would support them in lieu of saving a scholarship for another year.

Kid has big time upside...I hope we get him...there's still uncertainty re Govan and Yurt7 for this year, and even if we landed a big timer (Cockburn?) next year he would likely be a 1 and done...after 2 years of development under PE Osun could be ready to take over as an impact pivot man in the Big East, if not O(sooner)...

In a way, he's a replacement for Sodom. And if Ewing is hearing that Govan is gone, then I think Ewing takes him without hesitation.
Our recruitment of Cockburn, Stewart, and other 2019 elite bigs is not impacted by bringing in Osunniyi from 2018.
Btw, as positive as Hoya recruiting has been trending lately, I would think Georgetown is the favorite among the 3 schools listed.

Not to mention that if Kofi and Stewart both go elsewhere - and they both have impressive lists of suitors - and we end up scrambling for a big man, we could be sorry we did not get Osun, especially if he develops into a big contributor. The scholarship numbers work themselves out. I feel that Patrick knows exactly what he is doing.

Some guy named Jason Spears - who apparently may be a Syracuse blogger? - tweeted that Osunniyi "will announce his decision to attend St. Bonaventure tonight around 7"

I think he can develop into a good player in a couple of years, but certainly there will be more advanced recruits available ‘19 class.

I'm fine either way, but I'm TTS. If Pat gets his top '19 targets, then it will be up to the roster players to stay or transfer.

If you can raise the level of talent then you take every good player who will commit and let the players determine playing time. If a player is not good enough to earn playing time and is then unhappy, he will end up transferring, but anytime you can get a 4or 5 star player to commit you need to take that player and not worry about hurting the other guys feelings.

Thanks Frazier.
I also didnt realize that Kyle Lofton who is on Putnam and highly ranked, at least when it comes to New England rankings, is going to the Bonnies.
I wonder if their close at all...

Perfect fit for the Bonnies. That's where he belongs. It's where I expect him to go. Mark Schmidt is a good coach and will be the best to balance playing time and development.

Yes, from the player's perspective, Osunnuyi knows he will be actively recruited over by both Syracuse and Georgetown. In that respect, St. Bonnies is a good spot to land.

Hope he helps the Bonnies back to the tourney. We turn our attentions elsewhere.

Good luck to Osun. St Bonnie fits his level great, if he shows after a couple of years then the jump to HM should be easy.
