That was a pretty ballsy pass off the glass over two guys.

That was last year’s game. Not sure his stats for this years game but the writeup says he scored 2 points.

It's funny you just posted this. I was thinking about a player you would love to see him become... I would also offer Kenny Wooten at Oregon. That would be an ideal result for Wilson. Blocks everything, lots of offensive rebound putbacks and alley oops... If he ended up being almost as good as Wooten I would be thrilled...

Diakite is a really gifted athlete and impressive defender/player. Salt does a really good job on this also, but he is not nearly the athlete that Diakite is but he just works so hard the entire time he is on the floor. Salt is not especially gifted at really anything, but is an important part of that Virginia team. You have to think that Coach Ewing would love a player like that and really wanted to to see Jessie play with that find of energy and desire. Hopefully Wilson or Tim I. can fill that role as they develop and help anchor the team defense

Malcolm Wilson has all the potential and tools to become a taller/longer Tariq Owens in a couple of years...

Just thinking about that picture for a second...
If the rim is at 10' (120 in), and his head's about 6 to 8 (say 7) inches below it, and he's 6'11 (83")...
That's about a 30in vertical (120-7-83) on that play.
According to ESPN, the average NBA vertical is 28".
Very unscientific. But very intriguing. 😁

He's coming here to compete not redshirt! Why can't he do both?

From my perspective one is active participation; and the other is passive and inactive. Are you competing if by redshirting you are ineligible to play in games?

he's 'tread water in a garden hose' thin. great instincts blocking shots, something this team badly needs. govan offered zero rim protection last year.

Tariq Owens 6' 11" 200. Malcolm Wilson 6' 11" 205.
NO REDSHIRT!
