We have two intrepid scoring freshmen guards they like the bright lights and step up in the heat of battle.

Added 5 steals to boot.
Yesterday I watched LSU a play and saw Waters hit 5 three pointers in the first half and have 23 by halftime. I have to say that I was having point guard envy for a minute. James made me forget about it tonight. He’s learning a lot.

39 assists to 12 turnovers over his last 5 games.
Game management has improved immensely over the last 3 games. He's really starting to learn how to play chess out there.

This discussion is somewhat inevitable because as a hoya fan you always are going to compare the two. That said, Waters is a pretty skilled passer and defender in his own right and is an elite defender. I am just grateful that we have a kid on our team that brings all of that to the table as well. What I like most about James is his toughness and his attitude. We needed that and the rest of the team is feeding off of it.

The time to envy opposing point guards is over. Time to enjoy the one we have.

The BE was clearly an adjustment for James. As he acknowledged in his postgame press conference, he is getting some great coaching from guys who have played in the NBA. His game has transformed immensely in a couple weeks which is a credit to him. Mac has looked like he knew he belonged from the start. James is there now too. Love how they both feed Josh every chance they get and how they’re both feeding Jessie effectively in the post.

Each of our starting guards is fully capable of taking over a game and leading us to a win. When was the last time we could say that?!?!?!

McClung and Akinjo have a chance to be as good as that Wright and Freeman backcourt.

I like when Mac and James dribble under the basket. It opens up a number of opportunities.

McClung and Akinjo have a chance to be as good as that Wright and Freeman backcourt. They are arguably ahead of them at the same stage as freshmen. Edited to point out prhoya beat me to the punch although consideration has to be taken for the fact that the BE was more talented overall during Chris and Austin's time.

At the 11:45 mark in the 2nd half, Naji Marshall drives and gets past Mosely.....James does an amzing job at helping out and breaking up the play. Stud!!
