I like it, but wouldn’t it be easier, unstoppable or more of a sure thing, if he tried the bank shot from that angle? Lost art...

I see him playing power forward next year with almt he centers we have. We should be able to physically demolish a lot of teams.

It also allows LeBlanc to slide over to the 3. And Picket to play the 2 (if his handles continue to develop) and MacClung moving to the 1 on occasion if we want a press unit.

Given his age, experience and fact that he will earn his undergraduate degree in the Spring of 2021, it is highly likely that Omer forgoes his remaining year of eligibility and enters the 2021 NBA Draft. It's kind of a catch 22, in that it seems the only way he would not depart would be if he wasn't a lock to be a first round pick, and that would imply that his first year playing at Georgetown was not a huge success. So I think the best we can reasonably hope for is that we have a great season next year, go deep in the tourney, and that one of our big men (backing up Omer off the bench) is ready to step in take his place in '21-22 season. And of course that Omer is a lottery pick! Depending on credit transfers, don’t you mean he could potentially graduate in Spring 2020? I fixed it. Sprint 2020 it is!

Conspiracy theory...
With quite a few players being given clearance by the NCAA, is it possible Georgetown did not apply for immediate clearance? With Yurtseven and Govan's game being so similar, it wouldn't be a waste for him to play this year, but...there would be a huge offensive hole next year if Yurtseven played this year and then declared for the draft. This way he nicely slides in at the 4 or 5 next year offensively and allows the Freshmen to be able to focus on boards and defense.
I am sure this has already been raised and debated and I probably missed it, please forgive me and don't call me names. I am sensitive that way.

No. Because even with our youth and experience, the ability to backup Govsn and LeBlanc fills a huge while for us (after Sntwan Walkers departure) and as close as the games have been with Yurt7 we are probably a one loss team this year and in the top 25 with him.

I’m not sure the university ever officially said anything but I seem to remember some quotes either from Yurtseven or Ewing or someone else from the program saying they were hopeful that he might be eligible this season but then it never came to pass. Given Georgetown’s pretty successful record of getting waivers, etc., I am pretty confident they did whatever they could to try to make it happen.

I don’t even want to imagine life without Govan while not having Yurtseven.
