This is not the NBA, kids are not professionals. If they are being rushed back on the court or feel pressure to play before they are healed, the staff is at fault. The depleted roster is no excuse to be irresponsible.

Nice to see the Google doctors chiming in on what our coach - in consultation with actual doctors - should do. Mac stepped on a defender's foot and rolled his ankle. None of you know any better than I whether that in any way aggravated his prior injury, was an entirely new injury, etc. The fact he was in a boot last night but not the prior two weeks suggests the latter. As for Yurt he came back and played passably after whatever he tweaked. He struggled, but he has struggled plenty of times without any injury this season.

I actually felt bad for yurt when he re-aggravated his ankle and slammed his hand in frustration. I think it was the first time this year that he expressed that degree of emotion. Wherever he ends up...I just hope he brings that emotion to the court. I would love for yurt to have a solid career...whether at gtown or elsewhere. "Actually felt bad" - how big of you. Ewing and the medical staff doing a great job here, they are now 2-2 with putting hurt players out on the floor too soon and watching them reinjure themselves. So you are bashing me, Ewing and the medical staff all in one post if I am interpreting your sarcasm correctly. Happy Sunday!! I suppose you are going to blame the medical staff on yurt’s bumbling hands and head scratching turnovers as well.

When you play injured, nothing goes well. Yurtseven was moving gingerly and shots all looked off balance.

At that age young players want to play through injuries for their teammates. Just like the game before the decision to play or not was Y7’s.

It shouldn’t be his decision for that reason.

It shouldn’t be his decision for that reason. So if a doctor clears him to play, who else is supposed to make that decision?

It looked like he rolled his ankle yesterday and came back into the game. He was clearly not 100%. That was quick clearance.

Quick clearance based off of what? I could be wrong but he did go back into the locker room with the team doctor.

Absolutely - you seem to think it's okay to bash 18-22 year olds making $0 and adults making millions or six figures are exempt from criticism, and I think that if we're going to throw criticism around, it should work the opposite way.

The coach should pull a player that’s noticeably plagued by an injury. Curious to see how he moves Wednesday.

Yurt was not "noticeably plagued by an injury". He played no differently in the minutes before he tweaked his ankle than he did in some of his less productive games earlier in the season. Claiming otherwise is revisionist history.

Claiming otherwise is revisionist history. We must have been watching two completely different games. Just because he demonstrated the same issues he normally does doesn't mean he wasn't noticeably slower. He had next to nothing in terms of elevation on his shots.

Yurt may never play again at this rate.

Already trying out the draft suit he won’t need... Always fun to come home from vacation, open up HoyaTalk to see what I've missed, and see a totally unnecessarily negative comment like this first.
