Very lucky to have him. Enjoy watching him play, even when we lose.

The team is playing hard. Maybe, they had a few rough games after a really tough non-conference schedule. Mac got hurt. It was a freakish accident. He's a tough loyal kid and people flat out like him. Stop slinging mud in his direction. He's a great player who obviously feels tremendous loyalty to his team. Applaud that virtue, because we have already seen the players who lack it. Exactly. Could not have said it better.

He is already a really good college player and has out performed his ranking as a recruit. Will he ever be drafted in the NBA? Who knows!! At this point I am not sure either Powell from Seton Hall or Howard from Marquette get drafted next year. Most mock drafts I have seen have them as second round picks at best. I am sure most people on this board would be happy to have either of those guys on the Hoya team. Will Mac ever perform to the level of those guys? I think there is a reasonable chance he could and I will enjoy watching him continue to grow as a player and hope he starts to realize some team success.

If he continues to improve his shooting and ballhandling and keeps giving effort on the defensive end, I don't think it's much of a stretch at all to think he could become a more athletic version of Powell by his senior year, which would make him one of the best players in the country. Someone last year mentioned Ben Gordon as a best-case comparison, and I think that's a pretty good one (I also like a better shooting Monta Ellis or a slightly smaller Steve Francis). the biggest thing for Mac though in terms of his ultimate improvement and the Hoyas' team success is going to be continuing to refine his shot selection and his situational awareness. He's already come a long way there, but he's still got plenty of room for improvement. Being an aggressive scoring machine is part of his DNA, so he's never going to be a pass-first, deferential type of guy, but if he continues to get better with his facilitating ability and understanding of when to take over vs when to involve his teammates, then his potential to lead this team is off the charts. I'm confident that he'll eventually get there, and I'm hopeful that it'll happen sooner rather than later.

But the hair. What is going on with the hair??? well since he's grown up looking at his pops' dome as the potential future, I think our boy might just be trying to get as much mileage out of his follicles as he can before it's no longer possible. (edit: and I say that with all love as an aging narcissist who's fought his own battles against a treacherous hairline - the struggle is real, y'all)

He's still got hope!

Would not be surprised , if Mac continues his improvement in passing and ball handling, to see him as our point guard next season. Unless of course, Pat pulls a Terrell Allen out of his hat.

I think Mac could play some minutes every game at the point, but I think that makes it harder for hime to maximize his greatest strength, scoring the ball. To be an effective PG you need to make sure you are getting your teammates involved and that would take his focus away from finding his shot. You even see that with Howard at Marquette, where he plays off the ball for most of the game. His size and quickness would make you think he is a natural PG, but his team needs him to score so he plays off the ball quite a bit. I would think Ewing and the staff know they need an experienced PG on the team for next year if they are going to be a good team

What happened to him? How did he hurt his knee? most likely last game - when he got quiet in the 2nd half ... today he wasn't having the usual elevation on jumpers and shot was off target

He had a sleeve on his right knee and both were iced when he sat. Threw off even his free throws. ☹️

Mac was icing both when on the bench, but not on the joint, but above it. This is often strain on the tendons, which isn't surprising given his well developed quads that give his his "bounce". The good thing is this isnt' ACL, MCL, (completely) patella tendon issues, nor meniscus type issues that are most problematic. But tendon pain isn't pain free and can limit movement.
Important note: this is just based one where the ice was sitting everytime the camera showed him on the bench and nothing to do with any medical reporting (which is non-existent at Georgetown).
