What does that mean? Is he on the main roster? For the next 10 days, yes... same contract IT signed with the Lakers a few days ago, except the value is based on experience, so IT's is worth around 150K, Mac's is 60K.

What does that mean? Is he on the main roster? My understanding is yes until a player on the regular roster returns. For context, Isaiah Thomas also signed a 10-day hardship exemption with the Lakers (who had McClung on its G League affiliate) i.e., the Lakers chose to sign Thomas instead of bringing McClung up. In simpler terms, the hardship exemption is a temporary roster spot that allows teams to exceed the 15-man roster limit in times of need (multiple players being out because of injury or illness). Temporary is the keyword. As explained by cap expert Danny Leroux, "When one of the four players can return to action, the 15-player roster limit comes back into effect and the team must comply with it immediately Thomas signing 4 days ago: Lakers sign Isaiah Thomas to a 10-day contract pursuant to the NBA Hardship Exception provisions, it was announced today by Vice President of Basketball Operations and General Manager Rob Pelinka. Thomas has appeared in 528 career NBA games (361 starts) for the Pelicans, Wizards, Nuggets, Cavaliers, Celtics, Suns, Kings and Lakers, averaging 18.1 points, 2.4 rebounds and 4.9 assists in 28.8 minutes. The 10-year NBA veteran most recently played one game for the Grand Rapids Gold in the NBA G League, totaling 42 points, six rebounds, eight assists and two steals in 43 minutes.

Does this mean the Bulls hold his rights or can he go back to the Lakers?

Does this mean the Bulls hold his rights or can he go back to the Lakers? I infer "yes" to the question of Bulls now owning Mac's rights given the options listed here for the Thomas signing. I also infer that if the Bulls do not resign him to a second 10-day contract, retain him, but instead let him go, he becomes a free agent: Thomas can remain with the Lakers until any of the following: His 10-day contract expires, after which the team can either sign him to a second 10-day contract, let him go, or cut a player from their 15-man roster to sign him for the rest of the season. The maximum number of 10-day contracts a team can sign any single player to during a single season is two. They no longer have at least four players missing, at which point they would have to either cut Thomas, or cut another player to make room for him. Someone who knows more about this please feel free to correct me if I am wrong!

Does this mean the Bulls hold his rights or can he go back to the Lakers? When a player is called up to the NBA their G League team retains their player rights for the duration of the current season and the two following seasons. If that player is waived, they must return to their G League team.
So unless the Bulls or another team sign him to another 10 day, he will return to South Bay around New Years. The exception would be if a team wanted to sign him to a two way, in which case any team including the Bulls could do so, though it would require waiving one of their current 2 way players or signing a current 2 way player to the active roster to free up the spot.

My understanding is that, under the hardship agreement, teams are required to add one player for every two who test positive. Correct?

Congrats to Mac McClung on signing a 10 day deal with the Bulls.
Btw, why did this get moved to this part of the board? I enjoyed seeing it in the part that I actually look at lol. Had to search to find it here.

Seems like a good idea to discuss all of our pro Hoyas in one spot where everybody will see it. Which I assume is why this was in the main board for many years…

Maybe you'd be better served by following his Instagram?

Maybe you'd be better served by following his Instagram? What is your deal dude? I posted an update about a former Hoya and then asked a simple question that had to do with ALL former Hoyas. I’d like to see this on the part of the board (called HoyaTalk) where more people will see it and engage with it. If not then it’s all good, just making a suggestion. Are you being a smart ass to me because you’re upset about Mac transferring still? Or is it something else about me that you might have a problem with or what?

As such, it's categorized under the Pro & College part of the board. Do you see posts about Jeff Green or Otto Porter on the main board? If you ever do, the mods move them to this part of the board fairly quickly because the main board is for current players/news.
