Mac has made vague allusions to factors that forced his decision to transfer, but his move to Texas Tech really doesn't seem to have helped him elevate his professional prospects. He scored a quarter of his points on free throws, had a negative assist to turnover ratio once conference play started, and can't guard Sister Jean. Drawing fouls is by far his best attribute, and his struggles off the dribble vs. Arkansas' Devo Davis prove that isn't going to translate to higher levels. He'd be very fortunate to find his way to Serie A or the Bundesliga.
Team success seems to be a secondary goal for Mac, but if he plans on sticking around, Terrence Shannon is probably going pro and they have no size. Texas Tech pays Beard a ton and his daughters live somewhere nearby, but wouldn't rule him out for the Indiana job if they open the checkbook. Would imagine Indiana is still a far easier sell to recruits than Texas Tech. Within the Big 12, Texas Tech seems like they will always have an uphill battle to be as good a program as Kansas or Texas.

Very underwhelming performance by Mac v. Arkansas, although he wasn't a ball stopper.

Mac seemed to be walking strange in the huddle last night. I'm wondering if he has some kind of hip injury or something. He's been off for the last month, just like last year.

Mac’s “business decision” to transfer to Texas Tech is working out about as well as buying Enron stock in March 2001. He showed nothing beyond what he did at Georgetown. And now there’s a lot of TT board speculation that Kyler Edwards, who gave Mac #0, is leaving because of friction with Mac. They already lost their only recruit for next season to Texas, Shannon likely staying in the draft, and Peavy is transferring. When Mark Adams said at his introductory press conference that they were going to play much differently and move with more purpose, he might as well have said we’re not doing Mac iso’s anymore. Chris Beard is recruiting TyTy Washington hard, doubtful he is interested in a Mac reunion.

His main focus should be (and should always have been) getting enough credits to obtain a college degree. That way, he could go back home and someday become assistant finance manager at Gates City Chevrolet. He is a (very) poor man's Jimmer Fredette at best, and this longtime focus on the NBA and resulting twists and turns in his collegiate allegiances demonstrate that he and his enablers never understood the principle of the deflated basketball. Hope for his sake that there aren't too many TT tats to laser off.

Mac is going to be coaching the Gate City JV team in a few years and wondering what might’ve happened had he stayed at Georgetown with a coach who could’ve used his influence to help him sneak into a high paying European league. Like Wahab, Mac and the people around him are delusional about his abilities and potential, and have made subsequent poor decisions.

He's using a free look to see what's out there, I do not get the saltiness, I do not get the elitist "JV Coach / Car Dealership" nonsense.
The transfer worked out well. He got more airtime than he would have gotten at Georgetown.
