Here’s as good a start as any.

Here’s as good a start as any. Absolutely. Best Case is 8/9 vs. DePaul and take your chances with Xavier. Worst case is landing St. John's (who is due for an upset win at MSG) and then a second game with Villanova in five days.

Just hope Butler can win in Queens next week. Rather see DePaul than the Johnnies on Wednesday's late game. St Johns Nova could be interesting if they get to thursday night. Crowd will be strong for St Johns.

How do you beat Duke and Nova and then lose to DePaul? I gotta think that if SJU craps out in the BET Mullins is gone. Way too much talent to be so inconsistent. Give PE their talent and we'd be 11-5 right now.

Does anyone know who would have the tie-breaker if DePaul and St. John's finish tied? They split their games against each other so I'm not sure what the next tiebreaker would be.

Head to head: tied Record versus #1 seed/Xavier: tied Record versus #2 seed/Villanova: St. John's wins tiebreaker (SJ 1-1 vs. DePaul 0-2)

Would love to avoid St. John's in the Garden too so that doesn't help.

As soon as he starts recruiting more Shamorie Ponds type players, that team will win games. Of the team that they have now, only one (Ponds at 88) was rated above 80 on ESPN. So technically we have a more talented team. HIs rebuild is very hard compared to ours. They really should keep Mullin for a minimum of 2 seasons more.

I'd say St.Johns has a much higher chance to win one of their next two over Depaul. But we all would rather face DePaul than St.John's. It's not going to be easy at all to beat that team 3 times.

Unless DePaul beats Xavier, Georgetown will play St.John's at MSG again. Oh boy the headlines

Even though St. John's didn't have Ponds, Butler blew the game to them in double OT. So now we're stuck playing St. John's in the Garden on Wednesday. Damn.

It's gonna take a miracle to avoid St John's next week.

Even if De Paul moved back up to 9 by beating Xavier that would move Villanova back to 1 and make them the second round opponent. Now is not the time to be intimidated by a 9th place finisher.

Based upon recent play the Hoyas should be concerned no matter which team they play. Hoyas seem to be able to play to the level of their opponent for about 30 minutes and then collapse. Not a good pattern and one they need to break. Need both bigs and at least 2 perimeter players to be "on" their game next week.

I can't believe people are trying to figure out the best match-ups for a team that's sitting on 5 conference wins on March 1. There are no good matchups for us. We'll be back on the bus to DC no later than Thursday afternoon. If not, I'll eat my hat*
[*Disclaimer: I will not be eating any hats]

We may have even been favorite against DePaul. We played Xavier pretty well both games. We lost to nova by like a 1000. I think that stands for something. I don’t think anyone really thinks we are going to win the BET, but it’s fun to root for better odds.
