I think your right Glide..i want to give Ewing every chance but cmon...cant just be the players every time... I don't understand why coach Ewing didn't put the ball in either Reggie Williams or Michael Jackson hands and let them create especially with Zo and Mutombo underneath ready for offensive rebounds. I'm ready to call it quits on coach Ewing, he's been coach long enough. I said our coached got out coached period last game as well.

More lack of personnel than bad coaching. A skilled guard would make Pat look like a genius. Recruiting is everything!

Lavin on the Hoyas. Guard play. Simple. Yup yup yup. Decision making Jackson says. Yup yup I've said the same things. Well, it's what they don't (or won't) say. "Ewing has no late game strategy." Yup yup yup. Actually it was said, bringing up GU's problem closing out that last four games. The problem is having players how know how to listen and close out games. End of games cause panic in players. It has been Pickett and Juggy with lack of discipline in 2 or 3 of the last 4 games where last minute game play cost controlling a win. Freshmen with composure? Not a normal thing. Patrick needs to keep the guys calm and confident and run drill like crazy on how to close out a game. We know Orr can run those drills as he killed Georgetown with that a few times (one took 6 players on the floor to do it). Patrick has been in a lot of those situations, but it rarely is a big man running end of game strategies. It would be interesting to know what he called and what actually was run, betting they are different.

It's not a big deal in the grand scheme of things because we just don't have the talent, but I thought it was just a poor last several minutes for Ewing. Im not sure how that makes me or others crazy people. But, to each his own.

No true. The coaching is good up until the last 4 minutes, then it goes to "hell in a hand basket". There is more meaningful coaching done in the last 4 minutes of a game then the rest of the game combined usually. Oh well on to the next one. I can only think of the definition of insanity right now and I don't want to go insane. Well by now everyone knows what is going to happen. I don't think even the most die hard supporters can deny what we all are now seeing over and over again. Even if we had better guard play, you still need coaching to get the players over the hump in the final minutes of games

We can all go on praying that the light goes on for Pat. But it doesn’t look like it’s going to. He has shown us NOTHING in late game situations. What is he doing? There are plenty of folks who can roll the ball out. We need more. All we’re seeing is red flags. He coached less than 25 games total! Good grief. Its about NOW. Decision making in close games where you can tell if you have a good coach or not!

JT3 was a whiz out of timeouts, and at the end of games, when he had Freeman, Wright and Clark

Lavin just broke it down simply after the game. Guard-play. We have guys that can hit jump shots at times. Jesse and Marcus can help us inside. But nobody that can create their own shot. No dribble penetration. No facilitator. And we can't get crucial stops. And we give up crucial second chance shots. That is why we can't win close games. Guards, guards, and more guards. It is one thing to know how to finish. It is another thing in having the ability to finish. Losing Marcus down the stretch hurt, but we need guards. Still, we are improving. We are just hitting our ceiling right now. Dickerson, Mulmore, and Mosely are doing the best they can. You can't get mad at them. Proud of those guys. Applaud their effort. We just need more help. Down the stretch in February, games get closer and more contested. We have a few strengths on this limited roster. However, the most vital components you need to close out games are our most glaring weaknesses. Amen.

I just said in another post he gets a complete free pass this year. Hey if you were happy with the decisions at the end of the game all the power to you, i respectfully disagree and thought it was a mess...

More lack of personnel than bad coaching. A skilled guard would make Pat look like a genius. Recruiting is everything! Still got out coached!!! Twice.

In Cooley's first season he was 15-17 and 4-14 in the big east.

And most of you thought we wouldn't have found a way to blow a 1 point lead with 28 seconds left lol. "Most"? like how many, 5%? I'm pretty sure me and one other poster pointed out how the game was far from other. Double digit people said Jagan lost the game by committing the foul.
