If Pickett can get more lift on his jumper, he would be unblockable. Right now he has a slow release and no lift, so at 6'8' he still gets blocked on occasion. I think he has lift because the ball is not hitting the front of the rim most of the time. He has to keep his elbow up and use his left hand as a guide once he release the ball, snap his wrist and follow through. I love teaching point guard play and shooting.

I swear his toes never leave the ground. LOL!!! Looks like it because he shoots the ball to fast instead of take his time.

Maybe it is just me, but reading "a true diamond in the rough" in the title for more than a month has become quite annoying. I respectfully request that the initiator of this thread change the title to just "Jamorko Pickett." Your wish is my command. The diamond is pretty polished now.

Kid could breakout and have an Otto-esque sophomore year. We are shaping up to have a squad next year.

If he gets those handles up over the break and puts on some muscle kids going to be a BEAST. I also feel really good about next year, we should push for a tourney bid if everything goes well.

I think the coaching and drills have put his wheels back on track. I have been a fan, seeing him at Kenner and early...I could see the potential. I am very encouraged. I do see that he believes in himself, and would like our guards to believe and get him the ball when he's open. I would have likedto see him get the last shoy. Granted he's not going to hit every one, but his game is diversifying. I believe we're seeing the very tip of the iceberg and there is some exciting basketball plays to come.

I think its clear Pickett is improving substantially game to game. Its also clear the Govan and Marcus are much better than last year. Finally, Blair and even Dickerson, continues to improve. Hmm..seems like a lot of guys are improving under coach Ewing.

I am extremely encourage by his rebounding. Kind of reminds me of the rebounding help Grant Hill used to provide Duke during his first two years at the school. Hill wasn't an interior guy per se considering he was a SF who often helped with the ballhandling duties. But despite a slight frame he was long, quick and so bouncy in the paint he could snare a bunch of boards despite not being a big man. That is what Pickett is doing now. Even with the presence of Govan and Dickerson on the boards, Pickett is getting his share, adding to the rebound numbers from an unexpected source (the SG position).

Opposite of the wall for Jamorko. Very excited for his future. Totally playing within himself. Not trying to create, finding his spots on the floor and hitting the boards. Incredibly disappointed with last night's result but have greater hope.

Reggie Williams could rebound as well with a slight frame.

Thank you Jamorko is worthy..he's coming along. I'm sure he has access to these comments one way or another... I, and I believe that we, are excited and encouraged by his performance progress.

Reggie Williams could rebound as well with a slight frame. True but a little bit before my time.

And a great player for Pickett to try to emulate.

Providence is a very physical team that will probably look to push and bump him at every opportunity. It's going to be a big test for Morko going up against those guys.
