Here we go! The opening week of the regular season begins next Friday, November 10, and the Patrick Ewing Coaching Era commences two days later with the Hoya opener against the mighty Dolphins of Jacksonville (sans Artis Gilmore and Pembrooke Burrows III) at noon. There are three Big East teams in the first Associated Press Top 25 poll, with Villanova at #6, Xavier at #17, and Seton Hall at #23. A little surprised to see Louisville in the first poll, at #16.

Light a candle for Utah Valley; the Wolverines play at #5 Kentucky on Friday, and at #1 Duke on Saturday. Must be some “pretty, pretty good” paydays for that opening gauntlet of a schedule.

St. John’s is not scheduled to play during the first weekend of the season.

As was the case last season, I will post the Games of Interest thread every Monday (the next edition coming on November 13), and each post will cover the period of Monday through the following Monday.
