Imagine being so hateful and detestable that you're willing to travel to attempt to hurt people whose lives don't affect you in the least. Equally despicable, they traveled to hurt people who were gathering to celebrate being free and happy in their personal lives. Hating people you don't know and don't have any impact on your own life for being happy in an aspect of their own lives is psychotic.
Sweet "party" you're cultivating there, "Republicans." Is it difficult for you all to prioritize which groups of people you hate most? Best believe, there are far many more of us than there are of you and, in the end, you'll lose.

I suspect that I'm late to the party, so if you've seen this (like a thousand times), I apologize. I'm just seeing it for the first time and feel the need to share. If you haven't already seen this, enjoy.

I am not certain anything comes out of the talks. Simply put, you cannot trust a "Republican." They are liars and cheats, vile and corrupt, and hypocrites. It is nothing but performative politics. The self-proclaimed "pro-life" party/cult is anything but.

Okay, cool. I can’t read the article, but that means we are all just God’s pawns in some grand plan. If that’s the case, how are any of us accountable for our actions? An interestingly idiotic take from someone whose job it is to hold people accountable for their actions. And by people, I obviously mean people are who disagree with him politically. Also of note, Republicans will blame anyone and anything for gun violence, including God, as long as they don’t have to blame guns.

An interestingly idiotic take from someone whose job it is to hold people accountable for their actions. And by people, I obviously mean people are who disagree with him politically. Also of note, Republicans will blame anyone and anything for gun violence, including God, as long as they don’t have to blame guns. Here's the gist of the article: But those words sound more like a shrug when an elected leader — and in this case, one who is his state’s top law enforcement officer — offers that as an explanation for a horror that was preventable and exacerbated by human error. Worse, it is a dereliction of responsibility and of the imperative to do something to prevent something like this from happening again, as it has happened over and over. What Paxton doesn’t want to consider, he made clear, is that the events in Uvalde had anything to do with gun laws, which have been loosened considerably in Texas in recent years. He won’t countenance even proposals for a red-flag law allowing courts to order the seizure of guns from people deemed an imminent threat. That, he said, “becomes pretty risky for our freedom.” The only new gun measure he indicated he might support is one that requires schools to train and arm teachers to defend themselves in the classroom. Graham also pressed Paxton on why mass shootings happen more often in Texas than in other states. (The Dallas Morning News notes that Texas leads the nation in the number of people killed in mass shootings since 2009, and is second only to Nevada in the number killed in a single episode.) “Part of it is we’re just a big state,” Paxton replied. It might just come down to “the law of averages,” he said, adding, “Other than that, I don’t really have an explanation.”

I'd like to see the Venn diagram of those that believe that sensible gun laws are pointless and those that think climate change has nothing to do with humans. If we just put it all in God's hands (as we have been), at what point do these people admit that their God is awful at what those folks want Him to handle? Infallible? More like incompetent.

Apparently “God’s plan” is to bring about an apocalyptic wasteland where white humans battle one another for food and basic amenities armed to the teeth while praising the glory of the almighty. Kind of like mad max I guess. Not coincidental I guess that this starred noted evalengelist Mel Gibson. Great plan.

Meanwhile, no guns in the Supreme Court building or anywhere around the shielded elite bubbles they live in. The risks are all for us and our kids and not for them.

It almost seems as though they don't care about anyone but themselves and that they're horrible for this country. Am I missing something or is that about right?

To the surprise of not one person. I'm interested to see how NY will react.

Paul Clement, F '88, HLS '91 Two of the lawyers responsible for a major victory for gun rights forces at the Supreme Court on Thursday are parting with their prominent law firm after it announced it would no longer handle Second Amendment litigation. Former Solicitor General Paul Clement and Erin Murphy, a regular Supreme Court litigator, said they were launching their own firm after Chicago-based Kirkland & Ellis decided to step back from gun-related litigation. www.politico.com/news/2022/06/23/lawyers-gun-rights-supreme-court-00041909
