Paul Lewis Recruitment: James Madison (brother Matt Lewis plays there), no offers. Why him? There weren't many people outside of the Bishop O'Connell locker room who knew who the sophomore point guard was prior to him taking the floor on Monday. By game's end, everybody was scrambling for info. He hit five threes and scored 22 of his 30 points in a huge win over Santa Ana (Calif.) Mater Dei. It won't be long before the offers start pouring in. basketballrecruiting.rivals.com/news/bossi-s-best-all-hoophall-classicPaul Lewis committed to Maryland in September of 2021 but backed off his pledge last June. Now a proverbial free agent once again, the 6-foot-1 point guard is waiting for the market for his services to re-solidify. On Saturday, Lewis earned co-MVP honors for Bishop O'Connell by scoring 12 points to go along with six assists and six rebounds in a loss. Following the contest, he said his recruitment remains in flux. “To be honest, it’s been pretty slow because a lot of the coaches are looking to see what kinds of scholarships they have after the season and people transfer and all that,” Lewis said, “VCU told me that. So did James Madison. Vanderbilt is looking at me, too, but they have to see what they have. Loyola Marymount, too, Manhattan just offered me, though.” basketballrecruiting.rivals.com/news/cassidy-s-takeaways-r1a-classic

Which bigs (hs, transfer, grad) are we on? We have enough 6-6” / 6-7” players.

I know it's been a struggle, but once he puts it all together, he's going to be great. Hopefully he loves Georgetown.

Think the Bristol addition and recent interest in 2022 wings is a bit of a tell there by the staff.

Why Darren Buchanan? My son said, Georgetown ought get on him. Why, he's 6-7 and can dunk? Our team is too small with very limited talent. A talented big, Combined with our talent, I believe we could win lots of games. We need talented "bigs who can demand respect in the front court...all-around talent with corresponding confidence. I am a DC native, old school and I would love to see us get DMV talent, but it has to be the right talent. Not sure given our inventory Darren fits the bill.....I thought Billingsley would be what Buchanan is projected to become. I would like us to consider Amari Hansberry or someone bigger and better, if possible.
I don't know what's happening with him. It looks like he transferred from SJC.
It looks like all of our scholarships have been given and in order to get new talent someone has to go. [Who has technically graduated?] It looks like we will be small next year too!

I’d rather get smalls that can play instead of Big’s that can’t. we have three centers they just need to get better. if we need to get bigger in any area I would say power forward position. But in today’s landscape of college basketball you got to recruit even if you don’t have any scholarships available at the moment. most likely you will have transfers as most schools do every year. Probably need to recruit every position, that way when an unexpected transfer happens you are that much further ahead of the game when it’s time to get a commitment in the spring or summer

I would think Colin before Jordan. Riley really doesn't have anyone in his way for the starting 2g position. Colin has to hold off Bills, Bass and Clark.

Next year, if Denver is as good as advertised from 3 and Carey is gone (as Pat mentioned), then I think we’ll have two of Beard, Dante and Denver at the 1 and 2 for large chunks of the game. That’s if Beard stays. Riley will be trying to come back from surgery. That’s if Riley stays.

Jordan will get plenty of PT if he stays because someone has to guard the bigger wings...…….

It will depend on how good rusty Bristol is, if Riley has an improved 3-pt shot, if Aminu stays, if Bass can play the 3 (as he wants), if Billingsley can play well for more than 5 minutes, etc… just another year of a typical Ewing rebuilding roster with a lot of uncertainties…

Hey, mods! Don't we have a rule against speculating that specific players will transfer? I am especially not on board with the uninformed speculation that has permeated this thread, with allegations that state reasons in the posters' minds why they think someone or another someone or yet another someone should be considering transferring out. I get how recent history has created the fear that yet more guys will leave, but let's not start greasing the wheels, ok?

Riley is listed at 6'4" on GUHoyas.com and that seems high to me, based on seeing him stand next to guys like Mohammed and Clark. He could play the 3, but he'd be a small 3, particularly given his lack of bulk.

I would love to see some development leaps with our Bigs. We really need that. They all need to rise to the occasion. I don't think we have seen enough of Igoeffe to determine where he is in his development.
