Man, you are so insufferable. Lay off the personal attacks and let people discuss things, ok? So you attack first and complain when it comes back to you? Btw, how’s the crowd? More home fans? Sounded great on TV, props to all the locals (and non-locals) that made it.

I think the point is that it gets tiresome to hear seemingly endless complaints about low attendance at games from fans who don't regularly attend themselves. Thousands of us do attend regularly, yet we get painted with the same "empty gym" comments as those who can't be bothered to get to an 8:30 pm start vs UMBC, for example. Frustrating. Understand your point but it is equally frustrating for those of us who have contributed money to the program and the school for years despite living across the country and seeing the lack of support for the program as a result of the recent slide. So for those of you who go to every game—great! To the school—-when i see the empty arenas it makes me feel that something drastic has to be done to increase the attendance and justify the efforts of the boosters who give time or ,money or both. Winning will help but even more would be fixing the oft-mentioned failure of the school to engage in efforts to generate some interest so more will care. Yep, I get that also

Listed at 6-foot-11, Foumena has a high-level skill that translates; rebounding. The big man grabbed 15 rebounds (five on offense) in 15 minutes played. The center from Ontario's Orangeville Prep has a great motor, good mobility, and excellent length to his frame. He also reads the ball well coming off the rim, high-pointing the ball coming off the rim. Foumena claims offers from Washington State, Georgetown, Seton Hall and others. While his offense is raw, he stepped into a nice-looking three, and he has the motor, size, and rebounding effort of a high major recruit. basketballrecruiting.rivals.com/news/shaw-s-takeaways-the-bash

That's enough. The complaints the moderators HAVE heard loud and clear quite often revolve around posters getting in arguments over seemingly everything. Nobody comes here to read inter-poster bickering that has little to do with basketball discussion. This is a 2022 recruiting discussion, not the let's pick a fight over personal attacks thread.

Mintz has looked to play outside of the DMV, other than Mason which has his ear for a bit it seems. No idea where he is thinking, but all his basketball brothers from his teams all play out of the area and speak strongly about getting out of the DMV for a change. The more pressing angle of the story is what will become of Mintz, the No. 68-ranked prospect in America. According to a tweet from Mintz’s AAU coach, Dwayne Wise, Tennessee, Texas, Florida, DePaul, Maryland, Marquette, Xavier, Northwestern and Arizona State reached out to Mintz in the wake of his decommitment. Kansas has also been in contact in recent days. In talking to coaches now involved in Mintz recruitment this week it seems as though both Florida and KU are incredibly intrigued, to say the least. Each would like to get the Mouth of Wilson (Va.) Academy guard on campus for a visit and go from there. There won’t be a snap decision here, however, as some schools are still deciding how hard to push for his commitment. But the Jayhawks and Gators are certainly programs to monitor closely going forward. Tennessee will also be a player. basketballrecruiting.rivals.com/news/florida-man-judah-mintz-asa-newell-anthony-blackA one-time Pitt commit, Judah Mintz has been back on the market since early November. These days, schools such as Florida, Tennessee and Xavier are involved with the four-star guard. Below, Mintz updates his recruitment and discusses which campuses he may visit in the month ahead. ON WHICH SCHOOLS ARE IN CONTACT MOST OFTEN “I’d say Florida and Wake Forest. NC State just jumped in the mix. I’d say Tennessee, too. And Xavier.” basketballrecruiting.rivals.com/news/mintz-high-on-florida-xavier-others

They seemed like they tried to get involved before his initial commitment and then I thought I heard he was siting behind the bench at a game after he decommited, but there does not seem to be any buzz for the Hoyas in his recruitment. Might just be a case where the young man does not want to stay in the area for college. I think he is a local kid.

I would sure like to see us pick up some skilled size; a big forward that commits early enough to become acclimated to the Hoya style of play. So many of the teams I see on TV have tremendous size. Size isn't everything, but it can help everyone, especially for rebounding and defense. So many of the names bandied about are PGs and wings, I'm thinking about someone 6-9/10 with mobility, strength and basketball skills. That young fella from Lebanon could be a candidate, but I don't care where he comes from, just find some good and willing players.

It'd be pretty special to pull a playable-as-FR big man in the '22 class at this point. The transfer route is probably going to be our best bet for someone there. But I do agree we could really somebody like Tre King, who can step in and play at the 4 or the smaller 5. Ighoefe/Mutombo/Wilson Billingsley/Holloway/Bass/Clark That's our BEST frontcourt lineup at this point - before any possible departures. And right now I don't see that being good enough to compete next year, especially if Aminu goes. With Harris/Beard/Anglin/Riley/*Aminu*/*OPEN* as the rest of the squad, I'd take a flier on a 2022 guard (there are always more overlooked/under-recruited G than F/C) and find that big in the transfer pool. But if the Lebanese kid wants to come... ![::)](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/eyesroll.png)

Hubbard is currently wide open and has all of his official visits available to him.
“I haven’t taken any official visits anywhere," said Hubbard. "I’ve taken an unofficial to Georgetown and an unofficial to Georgia. I’m hoping to have some more coming up it is just a matter of talking to coaches and finding the best fit for me.”
Hubbard spoke more specifically about those two visits, the most recent being a few weeks ago to see the Hoyas.
Georgetown: “That visit was really great. Coach Ewing the way he coaches he’s team hard on both offense and defense it really fits my game.”

I think he is a local kid. “It’s kinda funny that I’m getting even more attention now,” said Mintz, who is ranked No. 33 in the SI99. “But it’s cool. I’m open to everyone. I just want to make the best decision for me.” The 6’2” scoring guard initially picked the Panthers over Florida, Georgetown, LSU and Maryland, among many others. Now, Florida, Tennessee, Xavier, Vanderbilt, DePaul, Wake Forest and Kansas are all in consistent contact trying to make Pittsburgh’s loss their gain. “It was a tough decision, but I just felt like it was the right thing for me to do,” Mintz said. “I’m gonna figure out which schools I want to visit and then try and fit those into my busy schedule. It’ll be tough, but it’s what I have to do.” Mintz’s stock was at an all-time high this summer after dominating the prestigious Nike Peach Jam, pumping in 29.5 points over a torrid three-game stretch and finishing the Nike EYBL/Peach Jam averaging 18.2 points a game. Mintz is one of the most dangerous scorers in the class with the ability to efficiently score from all three levels. His motor remains in overdrive, constantly keeping pressure on the defense with his frantic pace. www.si.com/college/2021/12/15/judah-mintz-a-hot-commodity-si99-basketball-rankings

Any DC locals with thoughts on Darren Buchanan?
Seems like maybe a little overlap with current guys (3/4 types), but if a forward were leaving...?
Don't know what our position is there - if any - but he seems to be a kid who'll benefit from being a late commit.

Don't know what our position is there - if any - but he seems to be a kid who'll benefit from being a late commit. Currently unsigned, 6-foot-7 wing/forward Darren Buchanan was the lone bright spot for Woodrow Wilson in their loss. Buchanan finished the game with 29 points, 12 rebounds, 5 assists and 5 steals. Primarily, Buchannan scored his points from the free throw line by putting tons of pressure on the defense and crashing the boards with 7 of his 12 rebounds coming on the offensive end. With the good frame he has built, he has no problem putting other teams' big men in foul trouble. As of now, I would say he's more of an undersized four than a wing as he continues to work on his ball skills and his free throw shooting must improve. As far as recruitment goes, Buchannan most recently received an offer from Pitt and has taken visits to Pitt, Rutgers, and JMU. 247sports.com/college/arizona/Article/Basketball-recruiting-Darren-Buchanan-Akil-Watson-DJ-Wagner-Kylan-Boswell-Slam-Dunk-By-the-Beach-179213485/

I thought you were only asking that of DC locals ![:)](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/smiley.png) My perspective is he appears to be a good player at a position of need, and there is a desire to improve relationships locally, so he'd seem to be a solid recruit. What I provided was a recent link to a national recruiting site with more information than anything you provided. Nice attitude, though...

Darren Buchanan, 2022 Wing, Woodrow Wilson HS: Buchanan is a physical and aggressive wing that had a big night against Roselle Catholic. Despite the loss, he put up 29 points and proved to play at a high level against elite competition. He used his physicality + strength to make his way downhill to the rim. At the rim, Buchanan used his broad shoulders to absorb contact and finish through it. Defensively, he was able to defend guards in space on the perimeter or bigger forwards in the post. Look out to see an uptick in his recruitment after a big performance against a nationally ranked program. Buchanan currently holds offers from Seton Hall, Rutgers, Pittsburgh & more. www.madehoops.com/news_article/show/1200569

A 6-foot-7 senior, Buchanan attends Woodrow Wilson High School and played for Team Durant, the same AAU team as Judah Mintz, on the EYBL circuit this summer. He is ranked as a three-star prospect by 247 Sports and holds offers from Rutgers, Seton Hall, Xavier, VCU, St. Bonaventure, and many more, with additional interest from Clemson, Maryland, West Virginia, Virginia Tech, and others. pittsburghsportsnow.com/2021/10/06/pitt-to-host-darren-buchanan-teammate-of-judah-mintz-on-unofficial-visit-this-weekend/

Bryce Lindsay (2022) Height: 6’3 HS: Bishop Walsh AAU: Team Melo Position: Point Guard Calling Card: Playmaking Current Offers: Texas A&M, Oklahoma State, Xavier, Marquette, Virginia Tech, Georgetown twitter.com/TeamMe7oEYBLHyattsville, MD -- Class of 2022 point guard Bryce Lindsay is nearing a decision with new schools entering the mix. As of now the scoring guard plans on committing in early January as he begins to schedule more visits. “There's more schools getting involved like Louisville, Texas A&M, DePaul, and Virginia. Right now Louisville, Pitt and Depaul are the main schools.” 247sports.com/college/basketball/recruiting/Article/Basketball-recruiting-Bryce-Lindsay-Depaul-Louisville-Pitt--177648696/2022 available CG Bryce Lindsay has a big day One of the top remaining guards in the class is Bryce Lindsay and he had himself a day at the Chick Fil-A Classic on Thursday. The senior combo guard out of St. Frances posted 20 points and six-assists in a win and while he is known for his jumper, he did it in more ways than shooting. He was much more patient in ball-screens on Thursday than he was on Wednesday and didn’t hunt the long-range jumpers that he the confidence to pull at any given moment. Lindsay was much more under control, getting to his spots, connecting on floaters, taking good shots from the perimeter, made plays for others and it all paid off. Overall, it was a good day for Lindsay who has Oklahoma State, Pittsburgh, Louisville and DePaul in pursuit. 247sports.com/college/basketball/recruiting/Article/Chick-Fil-A-Classic-Thursday-recap-top-performers-Redd-Thompson-Cam-Scott-Trentyn-Flowers-Bryce-Lindsay-179439681/
