Definetly 6'9.c..a power forward not a center. In todays basketball is there really a difference? Agree, not much of a difference. There arenโt many true Centers these days. As long as you have some strength to hold your position, you can be an effective big. Look at Marcus who is passable at 6โ7โ with no lift.

Don't think Carter has that much more lift than Derrickson has. From the videos I have watch l watched, Carter is more of a strech 4 like Derrickson. Didn't see him posting up and being physical that often. Definitely isn't a center, and when I say that I mean he isn't a rim protector....

I agree that he does not seem to be a classic "rim protector", although you do not see many of them on any teams these days. The number of guys really trying to block shots these days is pretty low. What teams want, and the way it is coached, is guys who can "contest" shots in the paint, without fouling. In years past most good teams had someone who tried to swat every shot near the rim into the seats, but the game is officiated in a way now that actually going up and trying to block shots these days leads to too many fouls. Coaches want their guys to jump straight up, keep there arms straight up, and make the shooter score over his extended hands. Finding defenders that can move their feet quick enough, get into legal guarding position and contest shots without fouling is what most teams want in today's game.

He may be a step quicker than Derrickson with similar long-range shooting ability. I don't recall Marcus ever dunking in a game the past three seasons. ๐

Sounds like he's having a big year for a top-ranked team. Good to hear!

#23 ranked C according to Rivals Carter is my favorite of the 3 recruits coming in so far, his skill level should produce good results during his career..

You follow these folks more closely than I..I am sure. But I would have put him solidly in third place among next year's recruits.

I think it would be LeBlanc and Carter fairly closely ranked together, and then McClung. What I like is that no matter the ratings, all three fill needs and seem to fit in very nicely with the offense Ewing wants to run. The addition of one more guard who can get the job done would make this a very good class, and one that addresses enough needs to get the Hoyas back in the Big East picture. Then, he would have something to build off of and recruit with when replacing the big guys' schollies the next year.

he is huge just in the fact he will be able to give Govan and Derrickson some rest. Hopefully Antwan progresses enough to do that as well.
