he is huge just in the fact he will be able to give Govan and Derrickson some rest. Hopefully Antwan progresses enough to do that as well. I'm expecting Mourning to be ahead of him on that front.

As much as I like Mourning, I would almost rather see Carter get more minutes to develop.

As much as I like Mourning, I would almost rather see Carter get more minutes to develop. Respectfully disagree. Whoever is ready and is better, plays more next year... but all should get to play early in the year. There's no time for exploration during Marcus and Jessie's final season. We need to win next year and make a splash.

I guess Pat will see who is more ready to contribute. I think his sticking with Pickett and Blair gave them confidence to thrive. I always felt JT3 put his shooters on too short a leash. It killed Cameron and Copeland.

He has had this time so far with Trey and will have time over the summer. He will give them the input of what he wants and expect from each of them. And we have already seen that Trey has a motor and i think now he will be able to use it. Those are the type players that Coach E is looking for now. I feel Carter will get his development enhanced under Coach E as well and the sooner he can get that time with Coach the better he will be.

Of course Pat will play who is playing best..we've seen that this year. I am personally rooting for Mourning to get his shot at some real minutes. Nothing against the young guy...but Trey has been a good solider all these years and , of course, his dad is one of our greatest, on and off the court.

If Trey comes back and Carter is as good as we hope then you have 4 players who the staff should be able to depend on to play the 4/5 positions next season. Walker looks like an interesting athlete, but he has not been able to carve out much time for himself this season. In fairness, he plays behind the team's two best players but if the staff had more confidence in him it would allow for Marcus and Jessie to get a little more rest each game. The team has been fortunate this season that neither Marcus or Jessie have had to miss any games with injuries and for the most part have stayed out of foul trouble. Having a few more players to add depth to those positions should be able to make both Jessie and Marcus more effective as they can stay rested/fresh and play even more aggressively because they will not have to be as concerned about foul issues.

I think this kid will surprise a lot of people ... Kid is a bit under the radar because of how stacked their team is guyer is the #1 ranked team in texas and he has led them multiple times on both sides of the floor.

They are not just ranked in Texas, but nationally.

Carter's game will fit seamlessly with the way PE is using Govan & Derrickson, he'll have some growing pains but in the end he'll be a productive player in his career..

If Mourning is getting serious minutes next year, it is going to be a long season Other than Jessie and Marcus, pt should be up for grabs. Who knows what will happen with Trey and when the roster will be set, but I like the competition as we’re seeing with the guards this year.

Besides isn't this how Villanova wins, using fifth to sixth year guys to bolster bench? How so? I read the redshirt like a prelude to grad-transfer.

Mourning has never really played college ball, thanks to the previous coach. So, fifth year senior means less.
