The young man understands the role he needs to play for the Hoyas. We're lucky!

The young man understands the role he needs to play for the Hoyas. We're lucky! Well, with the shooting inconsistencies from our guards, we're going to need scoring from his position too, so keep practicing those 3s.

I am trying to temper my expectations here. 😉

Love this kid. If his playing ability comes close to his winning attitude, we are in for a treat.

By the way, saw the sparring on the previous page. Has this thread gone 21 pages without mention of a 6'1 highlight reel athletic pg (and yes, white) from Podunk WV with only a handful of offers?

Chris Lykes (would have joined us this year) finished ranked 48 by ESPN, from a college production level, how far apart do you think they will ultimately be? Who would you rather have given the timeline the team is on? I’m guessing Lykes bc he is the pure PG/more complete skill set?

You turned this is into a shameful commentary on color and race. Not me. My reaction to watching Mac's past few highlight clips was simple. Mac reminds me of watching Grayson Allen's highlight clips coming out of high school, McD AA highlights, and dunk contests. To me, very similar players. If someone compared Govan's game to Othella's, would you blast it because both players happen to be African-American and conclude that the only reason for the comparison was because of similar skin color? You really surprise me on this one. Out of left field. Well, Harrington and Govan would be another pretty far fetched comparison, given that their games are so dissimilar it's hard to find any commonality. Harrington was one of the top recruits in his class and made a living as an undersized center both in College and the NBA - I don't think he took a single 3 in college... Govan, perhaps in a sign of the times, is happier facing the basket and taking 3s and the jury is out whether he can be an NBA prospect of any kind. You tell me what makes you think of Harrington when you see Govan... not just similarities mind you "striking ones".. and by the way, "demeanor, effort, fight, intensity, and athleticism" don't match up here at all because O brought more of all those every game than Jessie ever has... not a knock on Jessie, just a compliment to a guy who carved out a 13 year NBA career The Jesse and Othella example was used not as a "real" player comparison, but rather to expose the weakness of your prior attack, which was completely baseless and out of left field. Would not have expected that from such a good poster on this board. Let's move on because I do otherwise respect your opinions in this forum.

This guy is vicious...never seen a guy so short (relatively) dunk so often in traffic so effortlessly. He gets up high very quickly. Impressive.

If we're going back to Iverson and Page or Demetrius Hunter to compare this kid to athletically, there's something more than "top 250 prospect" here. I can't think of any guard that we've had with this kind of athleticism since Hunter (considering Bowen at 6'5" as a SF).

Speaking to the staff the other day one of the things like like most about Mac is his ability to shoot the three. In addition to everything else he does, he’s a pure shooter and can hit from anywhere. He starts from day 1.
With regard to Mosley, he’s much more of a combo guard and unless he becomes a much better ball handler, he likely remains in that role.
