Speaking to the staff the other day one of the things like like most about Mac is his ability to shoot the three. In addition to everything else he does, he’s a pure shooter and can hit from anywhere. He starts from day 1. With regard to Mosley, he’s much more of a combo guard and unless he becomes a much better ball handler, he likely remains in that role. Mosley needs to be taking hundreds of extra shots several times each week.I have seen kids improve dramatically if they put in the time and use the proper form. If McClung proves to be as good as advertised against high major competition, which is yet to be determined, the combination could be deadly.

Blair and McClung should also pair well together. We could still use some more ball handling help.

Simply means we will still need two true point guards/maybe one for now.

He has a lot of developing to do before I can see him being a day 1 starter. He definitely needs to continue to work on his handle as well.
Imo staff would be smart to add another ball handler.

Agree that we need more ball handlers. I hope that Mac could help to draw/recruit another top guard to play alongside him. We would be very thin next year with just Jagan and Mac facilitating the offense.

One way or another, we'll have at least one more guy who can run point next year. Could be a 2018 kid, could be someone who decommits, could be a JuCo, could be a grad transfer. But it will be someone.

We seem to have a lot of transfers these days. I suggest we make a very hard push for three or four players who cam play right away. 3 guards and a big.

Rutgers fans are going to watch clips of Mac as a Hoya and cry. Just like we watch clips of Waters at LSU. Mac's latest clip is unreal.

Unless I'm mistaken the Rutgers situation didn't involve a coaching change. If that's the case it's not the same. I was disappointed with Waters going elsewhere of course but that happened because of what went down with the program. And frankly in some alternate universe in which III isn't fired after last season and Waters had stuck with GU, I'm not certain all of our problems would have been erased. There were deeper issues to be addressed regarding the failures of this program (at first post season and then later the regular seasons themselves) following that trip to the Final Four. Besides after living through a time in which this program lost Kenny Anderson and Grant Hill (and others) because of the stubbornness of a highly successful head coach, losing Waters because of the shaky ground III was on seems small by comparison.

So much internet buzz and there's still almost a year before he plays his first game with us. When is the last time we had a guy like this?

I hope this kid is good at our level. He always looks like "a man among boys" in these highlights, though he hardly looks like a man.

So much internet buzz and there's still almost a year before he plays his first game with us. When is the last time we had a guy like this? Peak's senior year HS highlights were every bit as spectacular, also against pretty weak competition. I don't think Peak got as much internet attention as McClung, but there were certainly plenty of video clips of him putting up ridiculous scoring numbers in South Carolina as a senior. But Peak played well against high level competition as a junior in chicago, so we had some sense that his game would translate pretty successfully to Georgetown. We don't have much data to go on with McClung on this point. But shooting is shooting - McClung clearly is a solid shooter, so that should translate. And he clearly can jump! We'll have to see if his ballhandling skills and general quickness allow him create his own shot consistently, or if he is going to be largely dependent on others to create space for him to use his shooting/jumping skills. Hopefully that tournament he is playing in soon against strong competition will provide some good data.

I think it's awesome that a guy getting this much attention on social media is going to be a Hoya. He's going to create a lot of buzz for Georgetown.
