Tricky part for McClung is that he will be so much better than his teammates and opponents. We want him to work on his ball-handling (under pressure), passing and offensive efficiency in preparation for next year. I fully expect him to dominate this season, and hopefully he is also creating open looks for his teammates. Teams will be definitely game-planning to stop him. He played on a really good AAU team and he didn't do too much. In the early AAU season he scored 6 points on 38% shooting with 2 assists. There is a reason he's ranked around 250 in his class. He's not an Otto porter situation where he didn't play AAU so he flew under the radar. He will provide some great highlights but he's not the answer at PG anytime soon. I hope the staff realizes that. We shall see.

The kid can shoot, dribble and finish above the rim. His skills will translate to better competition, much like Waters. Three point stripe distance and rim height are the same next year. Plus, he plays with a swagger. I am excited he's a Hoya.

It's kids who can't put up gaudy numbers against weak competition that worry me, like Domingo.

Domingo didn't put up guady numbers against weak competition his numbers in high school were pedestrian. He played in one of the more competitive leagues in the country and because of that I knew he wouldn't be that good in college. What got him ranked was he played well in AAU in games were defense was at a minimal and he able to just let it fly. Once he had to work within structure he struggled.

Domingo was a USA Basketball kid... he was a very good basketball player for his age and just never developed further

Have only seen the highlights, and I am very excited for Mac to get here. His athleticism and aggressiveness to the hoop will be fun. However, I have no expectation that he will be at the Tremont Waters level. And you know what, that's fine. Waters is just a very special player. He should have been a Hoya.

Are we going to make this thread about Waters too? To be blunt Waters would have been a Hoya if someone over the previous few years had taken care of business and had been effectively on top of recruiting, developing the talent on team, winning enough games and establishing earlier a certain style of play that would have attracted better players and more fans. Actually if III had done just that the team would have probably ended up with Myles (III's first choice) instead of Waters. So we might as well put an end to the What If train of thought on this one.

The kid is an athletic freak. The highlights are so fun to watch.

This is getting unreal. The competition didn’t look great, but who was the last player on our team to be even close to this athletic? Bowen? I think he has Pryor and peak beat.

I know I have said this before on this thread, but I can't help but think the guys on the team next year team will find it an absolute blast to play with this kid. He has crazy athletic talent, works hard, and just seems to be having so much fun out there. That kind of thing is infectious in the best possible way. Pat is laying the foundation, and I like where this is going!
