I can already see he models a big part of his game after Iverson.

We need more guards that can create space for themselves and score. None of our current guards have YouTube worthy handles.

That video was impressive. Drives. 3 pointers. Steals. Can’t wait.

Tricky part for McClung is that he will be so much better than his teammates and opponents. We want him to work on his ball-handling (under pressure), passing and offensive efficiency in preparation for next year. I fully expect him to dominate this season, and hopefully he is also creating open looks for his teammates. Teams will be definitely game-planning to stop him.

He played on a really good AAU team and he didn't do too much. In the early AAU season he scored 6 points on 38% shooting with 2 assists. There is a reason he's ranked around 250 in his class. He's not an Otto porter situation where he didn't play AAU so he flew under the radar. He will provide some great highlights but he's not the answer at PG anytime soon. I hope the staff realizes that.

He has another year of HS ball. Let's see how much he improves and wait to judge until he gets on the court for us. Highlights are highlights...but I am excited to see him with the Hoyas.

McClung, Blue Devils race past Bearcats in benefit game BY KEVIN MAYS, TIMES-NEWS SPORTS CORRESPONDENT • TODAY AT 1:39 AM WISE — Those attending Saturday’s benefit basketball game to watch Mac McClung were not disappointed.
Gate City’s Georgetown signee put on a clinic, scoring a game-high 39 points and throwing down six slam dunks to lead Blue Devils to an 85-51 win over the Bearcats at Virginia-Wise’s Prior Center.
Zac Ervin finished with double-double, 24 points and 11 rebounds, plus a couple of dunks of his own for Gate City. Brad Dean tossed in 12 points.
Nevertheless, McClung was not pleased with the overall play of his team, which hopes to go deep into the postseason.
“We had a rough day today with all of us. We have some problems we need to change. As a leader, I’m going to do my best to change that,” McClung said. “We all had bad tendencies and I’m going to do my best to fix it. We’ve got to come together, and we can. We all know each other. We’ve got to work the ball more. We’ve got play better defense. We’ve got to box out. Just the little things. We’re going to become a family.”
Ervin, a junior, agreed with McClung’s assessment.
“We’ve obviously got a long way to go if we want to get where we want to get by the end of the season,” he said. “And that’s on us. That’s on me and the other leaders. And we’ve got some time in practice to fix it by our first game.”

Trying not to get ahead of myself with this recruit but it is difficult to do. Can’t wait to see him suit up.

His stroke is looking better. I like that he can create space for himself. When he goes up, the rim looks like it's at 9 feet. Mac will ease the pain of missing out on Waters.
