Whats been tremendously overlooked is based of the 2020 class and thus far in our 2021 class is where our commits have come from. Sibley(oak hill), Berger(Westtown), Clark(St Louis), Beard(Chicago), Billingsley(Ohio), Riley(NYC), Harris/Holloway (Kirby, The South)...the staff is making connections in these schools and cities to build upon for the future. If we can land a high-level within the DMV...our ascent is coming rather sooner than later.

Carter was my favorite prospect at Power 24 because of his consistent production in different styles of games. In transition, he made great decisions when finding teammates and in the half court he was able to break down good defenders and get into the lane to make plays. At 6’3” he rebounded well from his guard position and often times was the initiator of fast breaks for New Orleans Elite. What set Carter apart from most guards over the weekend was his lay-up making ability on both sides of the rim. He was able to finish amongst legitimate big men and as the weekend went on, his shot making from the mid-range and three-point area got better which made him an even tougher cover for opposing defenses. Already holding an offer from Southeastern Louisiana and recently picking up another from Southern University, I would expect more Division I head coaches to inquire about the rising senior from East Ascension. ontheradarhoops.com/power-24-senior-stock-risers-july-23-2020/

Carter’s offer is probably telling re Frankie and Malachi making other commitments this week.

Totally confused! Why are we still offering PGs (Cam Carter)for '21? What's happening?

Some think beard could decide to bounce later in the year. We lost our on Collins who is probably to Michigan. Malichi Smith is the guy who I thought we could have landed. He is sure to pick his school August 29th. Seems like we lost some momentum with him.

We've been down this road before. All offers aren't equal, nor does a giving an offer necessarily mean a program would take that player if the player wanted to commit immediately afterwards. It's often about positioning oneself down the road for the possibility if an opening arises or if you miss out on a player. We've seen dozens of time over the last five years the program being reported to have offered some unknown player out of the blue only for it to go nowhere. Relax.

Plan B. Plan C. Plan D.
The staff is putting in the work across the board. No reason to be confused.

That could be the start of something right then and there.

With Beard & Riley already in and Billigsley predicted (no jinx), it's amazing how nicely Frankie C & Ryan would fit into the class. Our own little Fab Five if you will... PG - Collins SG - Beard SF - Riley PF - Billingsley C - Mutombo I'm not predicting anything or working out roster depth or scholarship count. I just like the symmetry and feel of that. And Ryan makes 4...? OK - so Collins looks headed elsewhere, but it still works with others: Beard/Riley/Baldwin/Billingsley/Mutombo Beard/Mohammed/Riley/Billingsley/Mutombo Beard/Robinson/Riley/Billingsley/Mutombo Smith/Beard/Riley/Billingsley/Mutombo That's in order of preference, but I'm cool w/ any of those.

I know there has been more than enough conversations around what we have available for scholarships next year, we are at the limit, things find a way of working themselves out, etc etc I am not weighing in on any side of that argument but it feels very clear to me that Ewing is approaching the 2021 class as if we have more than 1 more spot available for next year...

And he is offering wings, ball handlers, and waiting on a center. It will be interesting to see how things unfold

I wonder how much of this is genuine interest in these players vs. developing back up plans in case kids decommit. Could be the trauma from last year’s mess has led the staff to be prepared for every and any eventuality.
