There were some whispers last week that Trevor Keels was on the cusp of his college commitment. That was not true. Are there others that have invested more time into his recruitment? Among the perceived leaders for Keels are Villanova and Virginia. He has already taken an official visit to UVA, and also took one to Ohio State in the fall. It is never a smart thing to underestimate the chances of Duke or North Carolina, both of which signed one of Keels' high school teammates last year (Jeremy Roach at Duke, Anthony Harris at UNC). However, if someone like Michigan wants to enter the race, I can see Keels being willing to hear what Juwan Howard and his staff have to say. It might only help their cause further that Keels will have two travel teammates, Hunter Dickinson and Terrance Williams, that will soon enroll at the Big Ten program. I am not willing to bet against Duke, UNC, Villanova and Virginia, but Michigan could have a chance if it decides to place a priority on him in the coming months and Keels is willing to keep his recruitment open until the fall. basketballrecruiting.rivals.com/news/twitter-tuesday-north-carolina-michigan-michigan-state-targets when it comes to Trevor Keels and team takeover it's like pulling teeth for Ewing trying to recruit in the DMV.

Insanity is doing the same thing over and over and expecting a different result. I get it, but the Hoyas offered him in August 2018. The time investment you're so concerned with has already been made. If the staff were to actually implement your "recruiting strategy" it would have to go into effect for the 2022 or 2023 class, unless you want them to call up the top recruits in the country they have relationships with and tell them that Georgetown is no longer interested.

I heard Baldwin's mom loves Georgetown.

In the coming weeks, we will be looking at several under-the-radar prospects that were primed to use the travel circuit to boost their recruiting stock this summer. Now, with grassroots basketball on hold as a result of the coronavirus pandemic, these prospects may not get the exposure in the coming months as they would have otherwise. Today, we take a look at Lucas Taylor. WHO IS HE? Taylor is good sized shooting guard at Wake Forest (N.C.) Heritage who checks in at 6-foot-6. As a junior he averaged nearly 22 points and six points a per game while earning first team All-Conference and first team All-District honors. During the summer, he runs with the highly successful Garner Road program on the Adidas circuit. "What I do well I score on all three levels, can get to the hoop, mid range and hit 3s from range," Taylor told Rivals.com. "The biggest thing I want to work on is getting my handle super tight to where it's on the level of a point guard giving me more versatility. RECRUITING SNAPSHOT Taylor just picked up his first high major scholarship when Jerry Stackhouse and Vanderbilt offered him over the weekend. Additionally, Taylor holds offers from East Carolina, Hofstra, Holy Cross, North Carolina A&T, Richmond and Wofford. Others like Charlotte, Davidson, Georgetown, Georgia State, Liberty, N.C. State, Providence, VCU, Virginia, Virginia Tech and more have been showing interest. Taylor has taken an official visit to Liberty and seen Charlotte, Davidson, East Carolina, Georgetown, N.C. State and Virginia unofficially. basketballrecruiting.rivals.com/news/introducing-junior-wing-lucas-taylor

Current recruitment: Offers from DePaul, Georgetown, Santa Clara, Utah, Vanderbilt, Washington State and Xavier. How things may have changed: First of all, I’m at a loss here. How a skilled forward like Sochan - who can play the three and four - isn’t already a Big Ten priority is beyond me. However, the first live weekend would have changed that in a big way, and I bet he would have had most of the Big Ten head coaches heading to see him play this weekend, many after offering during the week. basketballrecruiting.rivals.com/news/bossi-s-best-ten-who-could-have-shined-during-live-evaluationsHe’s already garnered tons of interest: “Kansas, Arizona, Vanderbilt, Saint Mary’s, Virginia Tech, Pittsburgh and a few others.” Sochan has also taken advantage of the new virtual visit process. He’s taken virtual visits and/or zoom calls with ‘Virginia, Michigan State, Baylor, Creighton, Xavier, Florida State and Santa Clara‘ – – all programs who have increased interest. With this process, he was able to land a new offer from Florida State after meeting with the staff over virtual calls. In addition he says to Stockrisers.com he will virtually meet with Cincinnati this week. stockrisers.com/2020/04/28/top-75-junior-jeremy-sochan-completes-zoom-calls-talks-recruitment/

Just for the sake of conversation:
Which recruits do we think we have the best chances with for 2021 at this point?
Which recruits would you like us to land most?
For me, not too sure about the first question, although Collins and Mutombo seemed to have really good things to say after their visit. For the second question, a dream (yet somewhat realistic maybe) class would be Collins, Brizzi, Jakai Robinson/Benny Williams, and Mutombo

I am not sure if Keels will wait until the fall to decide, but I do believe that Villanova is in a good spot, as is Virginia. Duke, North Carolina and Ohio State are three others in the picture. basketballrecruiting.rivals.com/news/wednesday-leftovers-kentucky-chaundee-brown-more

He is never, ever linked to the Hoyas.
