Interesting...will be playing next year as a 24-year old. I like the pickup, will allow McClung and/or Blair to concentrate on scoring. Agree. Can guard the best perimeter guy on the other team and give the young guys an experienced guy to learn from.

Looks the part physically...wiry strong with good quickness...very positive with the nation's 15th best assist to turnover ratio, and evidently a good defender...the shooting needs to, and very well might, improve...people made alot of the 11% year before last (probably went 1 for nine over a three game stretch or something similar)...then shot 28% last year..so i'm going with the trajectory...11...28...45...works for me...actually i'll take 35% and that might be achievable to go along with the other pluses...now if we can just land a big 2GD/wing scorer (Murray?) and a legit PF (freshman or Grad), i'll be happy...

Like it plays fast, keeps his head up and can strap up on D.

Agree. Can guard the best perimeter guy on the other team and give the young guys an experienced guy to learn from. ...and cant throw it into the ocean...super. Neither can Aaron Thompson. Quincy Mcknight shot the same % from 3 as a junior. You don't have to be a great shooter to have an impact.

Look I will absolutely admit you know more than I do in this area YaBoy and typically I am a glass half full kind of guy with every Gtown player but I just don't see it here on this... Yes those #'s look nice from the year before but they conveniently leave off that he shot 11% from 3, 34% from the field and 68% from the line. Of course give him the benefit of the doubt that his numbers declined last year with less minutes but why was his minutes reduced as a 23 year old? Did his inability to hit a shot prevent him from playing meaningful minutes down the stretch? Agree a game can be impacted in many ways...I guess for some reason I was looking for a guy to be more of a full package...I dont think that was asking too much.

You're typically not going to hit a home run in the grad transfer market. Aside from Towns, Aiken and a few others, none of these guys will just come on your team and be the guy. But having two freshmen PG's, a guy who can provide a calming presence and can distribute the ball will help. The work for the staff isn't done here, but Harris fills a role. He's also a very solid defender. He should help our younger guards while providing a Terrell Allen like role. Good for development and good for the short term. Still need a scorer.

The grad transfers from major programs who offer "the full package" just are not real likely to be interested in Georgetown right now. They'll have offers from lots of major conference schools with better prospects for success than us next year. But a guy like Harris can probably help. Simply playing good D and running the offense at a quick pace with a minimum of turnovers would be nice. Based on what people who have watched him play are saying and his career TO/Assist ratio, it sounds like he has a good chance to provide this.
It also sounds like he is a positive leader (a co-captain his junior year, and I read/heard something either here or somewhere else on line complementing his attitude and leadership). Given the loss of our graduating leaders, this probably also made him an attractive option for the coaching staff.
On the whole, he sounds like a reasonable plug-in for Terrell Allen. Maybe quicker/better defender but a worse shooter, with some similar veteran leadership qualities.

I guess he is more or less a poor man's Terrell Allen, but I'd have much preferred someone who could shoot given how little 3 point shooting we have. Ideally fills the roll of a steady but unspectacular backup PG, although may need to do more for us depending on Beard and Harris. This is the kinda move that slightly raises our floor for next year, but probably doesn't do too much for our ceiling.
Not sure if this means anything for Collins, but still unclear (at least to me) if he plans to reclassify.

With the Harris commitment, hard to imagine that Collins is a realistic option for 2020-2021.

Ark was pretty loaded at the guard spot is the reason. I feel you Beantown but I think you'll be pleasantly surprised by his play. He does a lot of things well and is a good team guy. Aaron Thompson shot 7% from 3 last year but that Butler team struggled without him in the lineup because his presence let everyone else play their game and focus on their role. If they can add a solid shooter or scorer on the wing, and return everyone (-Yurt) we might be ok.

My guess is that Harris starts at PG next year. Seems like Terrell Allen without the ability to knock down the open look. Defense and distribution will help.

Obviously Jalen Harris can improve in the offseason (if anybody is ever allowed back in a gym). I am excited for his ability to run an offense. But for the love of God we need efficient 3 point shooters.

He looks great in the transition game. He will be very interesting to pair with Mac and Juggy.

As I posted on the main section, this is a solid get and seems to check the box for what we were looking for going into the offseason - experience and stability at the PG position. Not going to the move the needle a ton, but certainly helps balance out the roster, and if complimented with a few more pieces (shooters please), the roster will be a bit more competitive. At this point, we really aren't going to land the Tapes or Aikens of the world, so I'm reasonably happy to land someone who came from a major conference and has the size and athleticism needed to compete in the Big East.
On the note of shooting, of all the guys we are bringing in (J. Harris, Beard, Sibley, Clark, D. Harris) is Dante Harris the only one we'd consider an above average shooter? Really worried if we go into another season without another reasonably good shooter. If Blair is our best shooter (and let's admit it he's average at best, really a volume shooter who can get hot, but also can get very cold), we become very easy to defend.
