Thoughts? Certainly has strong pedigree, but he looks like a Midwest kid.

I would assume we will see a commitment this week because if not probably won't see one until April 12th. Hopefully Malik Mack gets done.

Keep an eye on TJ Power from Duke if he hits the portal.

Thought I'd give an early prediction for the lineup next year. Let me know thoughts, and who you think I'm too optimistic about lol
Malik Mack / Tyler Perkins (officially linked to both of them, DMV freshman who excelled in IVY this year) Jayden Epps / Kayvaun Mulready Dontrez Styles / Drew McKenna / Caleb Williams TJ Power / Drew Fielder / Caleb Williams Lampkin / Sorber / Cook
RE: Power, I know nothing official but Providence was a finalist for him out of HS (Cooley wanted him BAD according to Prov fans), was teammates + good friends with Kayvaun, and apparently 100% leaving Duke
RE: Lampkin, total shot in the dark according to last year's portal szn

Just my thoughts: I think Sorber might be one of the highest paid guys on team, if not the highest, I think he starts. I like TJ but he looks like a Fielder clone, maybe he’s better but I think we invest in Fielder. Lampkin to me is a backup or pass. Defense has to be priority number one. Again here’s what I hope
PG Malik Mack and a strong backup SG Jayden Epps and Mulready SF Styles, McKenna and Williams PF a stud experienced scorer and defense and Fielder C Sorber, strong backup, Cook
We HAVE to get the PG AND PF RIGHT

WTF are we doing.

This top five isn’t your normal predictable formality, however.
The absence of Notre Dame is a bit surprising, as the Irish were once seen as one of the frontrunners to land the versatile forward.

I agree about Rowan, I like him and think he will be a really good college player. But if your Rowan and were told they might be looking for another PG to start while he develops as a backup, what would you do? I’m sure he will find a place to start and probably make more $$, the game has TOTALLY CHANGED.

The problem here is that although Cooley has talked about playing Epps off the ball more, I doubt he has taken him completely off handling duties which means this 2ndary ball handler folks are looking for is more than likely Epps. Hard to convince me Epps is good with playing off the ball full time when he knows that any future prospects he has are tied to him being in a lead guard role

I’m sure he will find a place to start and probably make more $$, the game has TOTALLY CHANGED. With him and Kaiser out of Maryland, this just shows we can't count on this upcoming freshmen class to be the solution. I would love to believe we have told everyone of these kids the unvarnished truth. What the 3 to 4 year plan is for them. Maybe with Rowan we were just in fill mode when we got him and didn't get a chance to have this discussion. It's not like Rowan would sit next year. He just wouldn't see the minutes he saw on a terrible team. He also would likely see those minutes rise his junior year and start his senior year. The kid isn't a pro so a degree should mean something. The grass also isn't always greener as the schools recruiting him will due the same thing if they can.

Agree, for a team that could only muster a few wins, you can’t March the same 3-4 guys out there. I think if Cooley was bringing in a senior stud guard with only 1 year availability, maybe Rowan stays. My guess is he’s got a few PG with multiple years available, I’m hoping!!!!

Hope we go after him, a junkyard dog type rebounder Very raw offensively but springy and likely could be a plus defender, fits well body type-wise to diversify the front court.
