Not worried yet, ON3 still has 6-7 PF still available and ahead of Stewart. Let’s go Cooley

and, despite our abundant NIL resources, we're not even rated. Maybe, just maybe, the sites on Twitter claiming sources that Georgetown had this boatload of money weren't entirely accurate. Well, if we do have it, we certainly aren't showing it. Like I said before, if you have a legit need, and you want a top guy in the portal, sometimes you've gotta be willing to overpay. You've gotta be aggressive and show that Georgetown is serious about being a contender. Still doesn't seem like we've figured that out.

Thoughts on Moussa Cisse 7-1 senior center as our backup and anchor anchor 6-9 PF ?

You've gotta be aggressive and show that Georgetown is serious about being a contender. Still doesn't seem like we've figured that out. The other issue that some ignore that NIL is not the only factor. May it be the most important factor for many of these guys? I am sure it is. But other things are important too, like: geographical location, getting to the NCAA tournament, on campus facilities, proximity to family/friends/basketball friends, rapport with assistant coaches and coaches, academics (either avoiding harder academics or wanting better academics, though that's likely rare), how good the team has been, how likely the team is to get to the NCAA tournament, the relationship of their high school coaches/AAU coaches to the staff at a school, etc. Keep in mind some of these guys are still teenagers. When you were a kid did you literally make your big decisions based on 1 factor? And that's it? Monocausal explanations are usually not correct explanations. The other issue is that it's not like the calculations out there are Player A gets $1 million from Georgetown, or otherwise gets zero. It's easy to see a situation where Georgetown might offer let's say $750,000 to a guy, and another school with a more recently successful program offers $650,000, and takes the latter. As it is, after taxes, the difference isn't even all that much in real terms. That said, I hope we can get Omoruyi, Stewart, or someone similar if we do truly have resources available. But, this isn't in a vacuum. I find it humorous when people reference Connecticut or make comparisons to other successful programs. We aren't in the same stratosphere with many of those programs at the moment. We can be. But we aren't now.

I find it humorous when people reference Connecticut or make comparisons to other successful programs. We aren't in the same stratosphere with many of those programs at the moment. We can be. But we aren't now. Why the snark? It’s aspirational. It’s a program to use as a model of what is working under these rules. No one said we’re in the same stratosphere. No one said we’re going to get the same quality of players right now. Watch how they build, just two freshmen and the transfers are upperclassmen. That’s why I watch the FF, to see what is working, how winning teams are built, how they are coached, etc… In the meantime, as is, Cooley lost all of this year’s players, except two. We have just two upperclassmen and a whole lot of inexperience and underclassmen. What needs to happen is for Cooley to balance the team with 3 upperclass transfers, including a big. Have you noticed how you and others are no longer mentioning Cooley’s exceptional ability to retain players? It’s a different world. I find it humorous when you mention Cooley at Fairfield, which was before the birth of the new BE and our future was bright under JT3. You have mentioned Duke a lot. Until GU can get 3 of the top 15 high school players in the same class and 6 of the top 50, Duke is not a good example. Besides, I don’t think that’s a championship formula.

MEN'S BRACKETOLOGY: 2025 NCAA TOURNAMENT Old guys rule - Kansas becomes new No. 1 overall seed The fault lines of college basketball are on full display in this special post-portal update. Duke, still a projected No. 1 seed but no longer first overall, remains at the forefront of one-and-done recruiting. Kansas, though, has eclipsed the Blue Devils in this bracket thanks to the post-pandemic mantra of "get old, stay old." Not only are the Jayhawks returning national POY candidate Hunter Dickinson for his COVID year, but Kansas also boasts fifth-year guard Dajuan Harris Jr. along with veteran portal additions Rylan Griffen (Alabama), AJ Storr (Wisconsin), Riley Kugel (Florida) and Zeke Mayo (South Dakota State). All have NCAA tournament experience and will certainly help the Jayhawks erase the injury-riddled conclusion to their 2023-24 campaign, when KU dropped five of its last seven contests. Finally, we can't ignore the newcomer among our 1-seeds. Perhaps you've heard of two-time defending champion Connecticut, which added firepower both old (Saint Mary's sharpshooter Aidan Mahaney) and young (recent top-15 signee Liam McNeeley) to its three-peat bid. The 2024-25 title chase is shaping up quite nicely. www.espn.com/espn/feature/story/_/page/bracketology/ncaa-bracketology-2025-march-madness-men-field-predictionsMeanwhile, in Cooley’s second year here, GU is getting younger, and staying young. Still time to correct this mistake with some upperclassmen from the portal…

Is Cliff officially inked elsewhere? If not, I wonder if we can go back to him with free chicken madness & extra munch money?

Is Cliff officially inked elsewhere? If not, I wonder if we can go back to him with free chicken madness & extra munch money? I think he is in the middle of his visit to UNC. Following previous trips to Alabama, Georgetown, and Kansas State, he has confirmed that his visit with the Tar Heels will be the last in his recruitment before deciding where to spend his graduate campaign. www.si.com/college/unc/basketball-giant-transfer-arrival-chapel-hill-5-24

Trips are over for Cliff. The good news is that he didn't appear to commit on any of them. Who knows where he is going.
I can't imagine that the staff thought they would pair Stewart and Cliff together. So I think they were separate initiatives. Maybe they set Cliff aside and pursued Stewart and now that Stewert went elsewhere will reconsider given the current circumstances.

Gotta be aggressive and fork up the $. Or, stay docile and continue to wallow in mediocrity and irrelevance.

"2. WHICH PLAYER STILL IN THE PORTAL DO YOU VIEW AS THE MOST POTENTIALLY IMPACTFUL? Cassidy: With elite big men in relatively short supply, I think the obvious answer is Cliff Omoruyi. The former Rutgers star averaged 10 points and eight rebounds per game in the Big Ten a season ago and has made strides from a skill standpoint in each of his four years in college. His skill set along with the premium placed on his position means that he’s the type of player that could elevate a program from good to great and put them in the hunt for a title. Programs such as North Carolina and Alabama, both of which he has visited and could help push over the edge as a serious player next March." basketballrecruiting.rivals.com/news/rivals-roundtable-breaking-down-the-spring-transfer-portal-window
