Want Cole, but assume he has to sit one.

Not sure we can land a PG better than RJ Cole in ‘20, so why not go after him? I get that he will only have two years of eligibility and he would be in a similar position to Akinjo. Kid can play.

You've answered your own question. He'd use 3 years of scholarships to be James' backup for 2 years. Not saying I wouldn't want him, but it's not the perfect spot for us or him.

Well... I guess Pat's eager to add that PG.

I’d sign up for this right now. Good kid and can rock.

I’d sign up for this right now. Good kid and can rock. I’ll have to look at this more, but he seems to have decent size and a ball mover, averages over 1 steal. Played 35 minutes for UCF vs Duke in the tourney game they should have won. If he’s good defensively than there’s a role for him and leaves scholarship open for 2020.

This tells me we have been told by Greg, that Cole is not coming.

This tells me we have been told by Greg, that Cole is not coming. Well, Roy is bringing in guys like Keeling and Harris to UNC. I’m not sure if they’ve told the coaches their decision yet.

Seems like there’s no longer a spot for Blair on this team if we get Allen, Sloan, or do I even dare say Anthony.
I feel like Blair is our best pure shooter (not a high bar), and would have liked to see him get to lead our second unit taking Greg’s minutes, but given the activity of the staff they seem to think we need another ball handler off the bench and let Mac and Jagan eat up most of the minutes at the 2.
Also, not really sure we need more undersized guards on this team as currently constructed. But I guess they have a vision in mind in how they want to play. I just worry all of this isn’t solving the defensive woes.

The argument can also be made that Pat and staff do not know the decision of Cole and they are going with a business as usual approach. Better to accept visits and show interest and then cancel if we get good news on Tuesday morning. Actually, sort of like online dating if you are doing it right.

Agree on Cole not coming. We also had Sloan on campus. Just seems like a lot of activity on the PG spot for next year ahead of Anthony’s announcement just days away.

We are looking for a PG to spell Akinjo. Blair is not a PG, so shouldn’t directly impact his minutes. Mosley’s minutes more so.

I think I’d rather have Allen vs Sloan if nothing else it’s only a one year commitment to Allen; plus he’s physically a better fit to be alongside Mac than an undersized Sloan would be.

Terrell Allen is 6'3 and shot 40% from Three last year. 4 years of D1 experience and is probably 22 years old at least. If we have an open spot on the roster, he's a kid who could get minutes. We lose Greg and Kaleb. We need depth, defense, ball-handling and shooting.

Unless we were outright told by Anthony that he was going to be a Hoya....you have an obligation to the program to bring in kids who are potential targets. This way you don’t get caught with your pants down should Cole go elsewhere. It’s the responsible thing to do.

Allen is a very good facilitator. can score if he needs to but had 7 assts against Duke and can run a team. Tells me that Ewing isn’t entirely comportable with Mac running point when Akinjo gets a breather.
