You’re basing your opinion of Jagan on weekly to monthly social media posts of him dancing or hanging out with friends? And then comparing him to your son who isn’t in college yet but apparently doesn’t have friends, doesn’t play video games, isn’t on social media, doesn’t follow sports, doesn’t go out on weekends, and only focuses on his athletic pursuits when not in school? Cool. In the end, this video wasn’t released by Jagan, it was released by the athletic department. If the athletic department or the coaching staff didn’t approve, it wouldn’t have happened. And I trust their judgement of how Jagan is spending his time more than your judgement based on a couple of photos that he puts on social media. I followed him long enough in Instagram to see that this was a major theme and not a one-off occurrence. If you want to circle the wagons around Jagan and make me the villain and throw stones at my son, knock yourself out. I imagine that many would have done the same around Henry several years ago. Sometimes the answers to your questions are right in front of you if you bother to look at the evidence available to you. Jagan seems like a good young man. I hope has a monster season next year...I am not expecting it. Nice try that I'm the villain throwing stones at your son. I never took a shot at your son. However, there doesn't seem to be any chance that you could say the same about Mr and Mrs Mosely's son.

It will all sort itself out very soon. Either he has improved or he will sit a lot. Very likable kid though and his dance video is cool by me. 👍🏻

HoyaPLaya,
I would have no problem saying to Mr. & Mrs. Mosely that based on what he posts on Instagram it is unclear that he prioritizes improving his basketball over having fun.
He is a public figure in the Hoya community. That people judge what he posts shouldn’t be a surprise to him. He is telling all of his followers a story. Recently that story is about dancing.
Jagan, if you are reading this....prove me wrong in November.

I don't know them but if they were like me, they would have no problem telling you that you don't know what the hell you are talking about and they don't need your opinion of their son who was the valedictorian of his high school, is playing basketball at the top college level and on pace to earn a degree from Georgetown while at the same time enjoying all that being young is about. He doesn't need your approval to post on social media as a 20 year old kid and the fact that you think he does or that somehow having good dance moves interferes with basketball development speaks more about you than him. If he is ever only a role player, it will have nothing to do with him posting videos of him dancing.

You’re the one that brought up your son as a comparison point of an athlete that had no distractions as detrimental as dancing in his life. I was simply giving examples of other activities that you might not have considered “distractions”, not throwing stones at your son.

Come on, you’re selling short the production value of that film. It had an expensive car, film crew, close-up of some fashionable tennis shoes, filming at several of the best campus locations to keep it stylish, interesting and add another dimension to his moves, some video editing effects just because, etc... it was missing the video girls... Some careful Jiggy Style planning went into that video... meanwhile, nearby, Akinjo is dribbling up and down the Exorcist steps. We're out here acting like we aren't less than 18 months removed from "Leave it to game-related questions".

Hope the kid has a breakout season this year. Although last year was a disappointment, there were signs that he is a leader and has the respect of the coach. Needs to improve that shot and learn to create off the dribble, while avoiding the "highlight reel" passes. If memory serves he really did not play either of the guard positions in high school so he is still learning. Would not be surprised at all if the improved talent leads to better play, but at this point it is on him to earn the time.

He needs to do myriad dribbling/ guard drills while also chucking up as many shots as possible. He is a solid player and undervalued talent who has the ability to step up like many other players at GU have done in their upperclassman years.

He needs to do myriad dribbling/ guard drills while also chucking up as many shots as possible. He is a solid player and undervalued talent who has the ability to step up like many other players at GU have done in their upperclassman years. Or like a number of other players have done across every sport and team in the history of college sports. The Divincenzo kid from Nova didn't light the world on fire his first two years but his sophomore year was better than freshman (similar to Jagan) and he took off his Junior year. And he was playing with Brunson and Hart in the backcourt his sophomore year so should have definitely been getting better looks. This is why i think Akinjo's readiness and performance is so important. He can put the ball in the basket but he is absolutely a point guard. The reality is that Mulmore wasn't a bad player, he just wasn't a high major point guard. I see why he put up some much points in the JUCO ranks but the competition is completely different from a talent that is on the floor and scheme perspective. Akinjo's readiness will potentially allow us to play more of our players in the right positions. It's also why I'm hoping we get a top flight PG in 2019 because that will hopefully mean that by Sophomore year that McClung doesn't have to play backup PG that much and can be in his natural position of a scoring/attacking guard. In my opinion, the potential depth of this team is what will make it a top Big East team. The freshman guards have the potential to make the veterans better but the veterans improvement is also going to be key to the freshman guards success as they will be playing teams that not only have better players than they have faced but also coaches and schemes that are better than anything they have seen to date. I think the mix of this team could have us surprising a lot of folks this year.

Like serious injury or transfer....Glad he is alright, we are going to need him.

I get where you're coming from but, with regard to Jagan, I cringed more when they mentioned it was a shoulder issue. Didn't he have shoulder problems last year? I think he played hurt a good percentage of the time and seemed to have a bunch of kinesiology tape on and around his shoulder.

You are right, with Jagan, I was thinking more serious injury. Looking forward to Tuesday.
