You offered me no new insight, but thanks. I imagine this isn't a new insight either - you suck. hm It’s posts like this why I LOVE this board.

You are right, with Jagan, I was thinking more serious injury. Looking forward to Tuesday. I just hope it was a precautionary benching and that Jagan is pain-free. If his shoulder is still barking but it's something that will heal, I'd prefer he sit again. But, having said that, while I still haven't fully formed an opinion of Patrick as a coach, I would trust him with my own kids if I had any. I feel like Jagan and the rest of the guys are in exceptionally good hands.

I had to go back 9 pages to find Jagan's thread! What confidence to nail those 2 daggers last night. Tough kid who will fight every second he is on the floor.

I'm happy the attention Ewing is giving to Mosley and Johnson after the last couple of games. Intentionally going out of his way to praise role players its a great way to keep kids motivated and sets the tone for the program. Not every player can be a star and having Johnson and Mosley take pride in being role players and their coach take pride in them being role players, will hopefully help build a culture where everyone buys into this mentality. It would have been easy for both these players to sulk on the bench having gone from starters to coming off the bench as upperclassmen.

Love it. I've harshed on Jagan before - probably because he was forced into a position where likelihood of success was difficult and expected him to be something he wasn't. Has a very significant role on this team and performed at a high level last night.

Props to Jagan on absolutely posterizing the annoying Center from Seton Hall last night. That was an insane dunk and maybe the play of the year, and he did it in NJ where he’s from. If you didn’t see it, look it up!! hoyatalk2.proboards.com/post/815410/thread

For at least one game, I felt better with Jagan running the show than James.

That's the only good thing I can recall happening in those atrocious uniforms.

Jagan has a lot of ability and has more good things in store during the rest of this year and next year.

Jagan has a lot of ability and has more good things in store during the rest of this year and next year. With the increase in backcourt talent recruited by Ewing last year, Mosely found himself in a reduced role as a back-up guard. When assessing the guard talent across the Big East, this is really where Jagan belongs and where he can thrive. While initially he might have felt like he was recruited over and losing the chance for starter minutes, Jagan actually is in reality going to play a much more positive role for this team as a backup guard in the long run. He is gritty, tough, plays defense, loves to take charges, and generally has a good enough handle to handle the pressure. His continued growth will include knowing a little bit better when to take his chances on offense. And if he continues to work on his 3 and gives us a legitimate 3-ball threat on the second team, he will really flourish in his role off the bench. Jagan is the kind of glue guy every good tournament team needs. He's not talented enough to be a top-of-the-line Big East starter, but with smart, tough play in limited, yet critical, minutes, Jagan can make a huge positive impact on the team and propel us to victories in closely-contested games. I really like Jagan on a personal level and root hard for him every game (more so than most of the other guys on the team, whom I also love...)...

When JT3 recruited Jagan...he told him that he would rely on Jagan to “hold it down” and act as a steadying force when the team needs him. He’s done exactly that for James and the team.

Similar to Kaleb's play over the last 5-10 games, seems like Jagan is starting to get a good sense of where he fits and can contribute to help this team win games.
Hoping that some of the improvements we've seen in the team's play since January will be ready from the opening tip next season, since we'll be returning a solid core of players. Would be great to start off on a much higher level than where we were vs. UMES this year, when the bulk of the rotation hadn't played together on the court (and at most had 1 season of incorporating Ewing's approach).

If he had an automatic outside shot he’d be a very good plAyer instead of a defensive specialist. His outside shot has improved under Wallace (a lot more arc). With a little more seasoning, look out!
Same with Kaleb. Improved form under Wallace. Though probably not enough time left to be a shooting threat for his college career.

His D has gotten better as has his shot. But he also has greatly improved his passing and handle. The feeling I have when Jagan has the ball during an important stretch is miles away from the nervousness I used to feel. He's now solid all the way around and that's hugely important to his team. His stats aren't going to open eyes but watching him play does.

Spot on. Definitely confident that Jagan can run the team, play strong defense and hit a 3 when they lay off him.
Now if he can just resist that one bullheaded drive into traffic per game . . .
