I am by no means saying it can not be turned around. I am saying that on the current trajectory that will not happen. It is more likely to get worse. Then why are you wasting time here? Surely someone as talented as you has a better use of his time. By all means keep your head in the sand. You're certainly entitled. And you may be on to something. It does seem that many are taking your suggestion. There has been noticeably less activity on Hoya Talk.

Seryee Lewis is pretty good around the rim, would like to see his jumper from the outside.

Seryee and Sibley in this one. PE and staff are looking for tough nest and heart at the SF/PF position!

Seryee Lewis is pretty good around the rim, would like to see his jumper from the outside. writingillini.com/2019/07/17/illinois-basketball-4-underrated-recruits-help-illini/4/Lewis is a 6-foot-7, 205-pound power forward from Morgan Park High School in Chicago, Illinois. He is rated as a three-star recruit who is the No. 217 player in the class of 2020 and the No. 39 power forward in the nation. He is also the No. 4 player in the state of Illinois as well.
Morgan Park received Lewis for the upcoming season after he decided to transfer in from Kenwood Academy. This should be a great senior campaign for Lewis considering the coaching and the talent he has around him.
Illinois hasn’t had a player like Lewis in a little while. He is a lean player who specializes in scoring around the basket but can still hit a jump shot every once in a while. The first thing that sticks out to me is his length. For being 6-foot-7, the kid seems to have a 7-foot wingspan. I would love to know the measurements on that.
Lewis’ ability to score around the hoop and his touch are other things that stick out to me about his game. He has a buttery feel to his ability to score. That is always fun to watch. The comp that comes to mind with him is Brian Randle. He has Randle tendencies with his length and style of game.Check the 2-minute mark for a jumper, he looks to have nice form...

Lewis would fill the void left by Walker and Gardner very nicely.

Is Lewis 6-7 or 6-9?
Collins is very quick, nice handle, gets to the cup and has leaping ability. Didn't see much outside shooting(...Nothing against him and I am happy we have him), but I would like to see footage of guards/wings getting the their shots off the dribble, in addition to the break-away slams. Once you get to 6-1, I would like to think that dunking is a viable option of a players game...dunking is always nice..

Seems like a solid offer. Nice size, soft hands, finishes strong. Seems like a nice piece to add to supplement the losses we had this year. The 2020 class is exciting because it should be so large, unfortunately. Close it out with some combination of Lewis, MAM, Clark and Walton. MAM is obviously the big one to get, but Lewis, Clark, Sibley, Harris and Beard to go along with the 3 centers from the 2019 class is a great young group to work with. Hopefully a group that will stay with the program for years and grow together.

Hopefully we can get a group of freshmen that will finally stay together and actually grow and improve together on and off the court. Then we can finally have a chance to make noise in two seasons. Mac would be a senior and Q will be an absolute beast by that time. Next year may be a struggle but it would be no matter who the coach is next year.

He was considered a 4 star top 150 recruit a year ago, getting lots of high major offers. Anyone know what happened to him last summer/fall to make him drop so far in the rankings?

Looking through his EYBL and Peach stats he shot it very poorly and turned it over a bunch. Seems to be in the same vein as Tyler Beard- highly regarded before EYBL play but fell off the map a bit due to a tough stretch, but coming back to form in his senior season.

Dropped to where in what rankings? Around May 2019 he was Rivals #117, 247 composite #125, and 247 #159. A month later he was out of the top 150 for rivals, and down to 247 composite #355 and 247 #289.

With all of the open scholarships it is really necessary for Ewing to find at least two kids who can stroke it from deep on a consistent basis and who hopefully are good size. Next year looks like we have added two small point guards to McClung and Blair. Do not consider McClung a tall guard by any means. It's not just a need on offense but also need some length to play the defense that Ewing has said he wants to play.

Me personally I'd like to see Clark, Lewis, and maybe Murray or Walton in the Blue N Grey!
