Beard as a Hoya excites me.
Kobe described as a point forward which might mean he is a ball mover excites me too.

Kobe Clarke looked really skilled to me. Seems to check all the boxes.

Kobe Clarke looked really skilled to me. Seems to check all the boxes. Clark is a really versatile player. The type of guy every good team needs. Beard reminds me of Jagan. Might be a little smaller, but probably a little better ball handler. Both would be great additions.

50. Kenyon Martin Jr (plans to go pro) 86. Kerwin Walton 87. Eric Gaines 112. Darius Miles 146. Tyler Beard
Plenty of talent still available!

I think Beard and Clark would be great acquisitions. I also think both should have higher rankings! Let me also add Dante Harris and Sibley. If GU gets all this talent, their team is going to be very very competitive when you consider McClung , Wahab, Wilson and Tim.

That’s counting on a lot of inexperienced college basketball players to turn out the best possible way. We need proven transfers who are immediately available for next season.

We're currently not even in as good shape as we were two years ago when Pat started. That team was at least working with Jessie, Marcus, and Kaleb up front and two PG guards who'd been on the squad for a year already. Wahab/Pickett/Blair/McClung/Beard is almost certainly a bottom 2 BE starting lineup (most likely dead last). Even substituting a solid FR addition (Moncrieffe?) or a starter-level grad xfer (Mike Smith?), you're probably not moving the needle much. We need a home run combination of top grad xfers, 3/4-star commits who punch above their weight from Day 1, a minor recruiting miracle (top late decommit, waiver eligible transfer, reclassify-ers), and some quick gelling of all those new pieces to even sniff the first division next year. That's to say -- I think "very, very competitive" is going to take a lot more than Kobe Clark or Moncrieffe.

It would be a step in the right direction, but we are still looking at a bottom three finish in what will be an eleven team league next year.

If they can add a Rodney Pryor type grad transfer to come in and add some real scoring punch next to Mac, to these other proposed freshman, then you might be looking at a middle of the conference team next season. If it is just the freshman and some role players as grad transfers then they will struggle next year. It is really hard to count on freshman to consistently provide scoring for you in the Big East.

Let's be real. We are not getting players who are good enough to make us even competitive in this league much less restore us to what most of us here, I think, believe is our rightful place at the top. From here this program looks to be in serious, serious, trouble. One person's opinion.
To quote the Mrs. "I just had to vent". I feel better now. My opinion, however, has not changed.

I present you Rutgers and Penn State... Just the latest in the "they will never be good, ever" bucket Their worry now is sustaining, ours is getting there, and if Rutgers can, so can we

I am by no means saying it can not be turned around. I am saying that on the current trajectory that will not happen. It is more likely to get worse.
