Coach Ewing and Coach Kirby are at National Christian Academy. It's a new prep school in Port St. Lucie, Florida. Their Varsity and Post Grad Teams' play a national schedule. Port St. Lucie is located on the east coast of Florida, smack in between Miami and Orlando in what is called the Treasure Coast. It's about 2 hours North of Miami. Based on the background info I have found, Coach Kirby and Coach Ewing have developed a solidif not significant relationship with The Nation (National Christian Academy). 2020 Henry Coleman of Trinity Episcopal and Team Loaded Virginia has one of the best motors in all of high school basketball and that has showed this week at NBPA Top 100 Camp. The rising junior is standing at 6’7 and one of the more aggressive players with the ball in his hands at NBPA Top 100 Camp. He brings tremendous strength and athleticism to the court and that has helped him on both sides of the ball.
Henry started the spring playing on the 16U Team Loaded Virginia team but then was moved up to 17U and he spoke to us about that transition.
“Playing the first couple of weeks with 16U was great. Me and Mark were really having an impact but Coach Blackwell and Coach Ty saw us playing really well together and we moved up to 17U and once we got up there with the guys and Earl, it was great and we had a lot of comradery and heading into July we have a lot of confidence and I think we have the best team in the country. We are very young, we have about six sophomores so you know next year is going to be even better but this year we have a really strong team too.”
In terms of recruiting he said, “I plan to visit Georgetown, NC State, Virginia and Virginia Tech all in August.”
Henry’s mother went to University of Virginia so he knows about the Cavaliers.
“Coach Bennett just really likes my leadership. My dad played football at Virginia Tech but he said when he was growing up you just have to be a leader. Everybody loves seeing leaders and that is what I really embodied and what I have been to come.”
Like mentioned in the quote above, his father played football at Virginia Tech and he explained his relationship with the Hokies.
“You know a lot of people are kind of pushing for me to go there, you know my dad played there and I could carry on his legacy but Buzz Williams really likes my motor, my high tempo and he just sees me fitting very well in their system.”
Georgetown is another school close by to Coleman and he has heard great things from Coach Ewing, “Coach Ewing really likes my game, he says he really likes my motor and always tells me that a lot of guys do not play with a high motor, they really don’t have it, they really lose it in their career, they start young having that high motor but he says you are carrying that and with that you can really make an impact in our program and he says I could really strive there.”
NC State is showing a lot of interest in the Richmond product as well, “Coach Keatts, I have talked to him a couple times and recently talked to him a couple weeks ago and he just really likes my motor also, he is a young coach and he said young guys can help turn this program around.”
When asked what he will look for in a college, he gave us this, “Academics is first, you know my mom being a lawyer, she really harps on academics so anywhere where I can get that nice 4.0 but also stepping on the floor during that freshman year and really having an impact, whether that is rebounding, scoring, assisting or just anything to really have an impact” |

Corey Walker recently visited Virginia and Georgetown last month Georgetown: “It was nice up there. I met with Patrick Ewing and Louie Orr and they were just very nice and it was good to talk with them. I was able to scrimmage with the team. I like them a lot.” |

One thing about Lampkin is he's really advanced in his decision making in the post. He's an excellent passer and he doesn't hold it in the post. If he has an advantage he goes and he can really get physical with guys but his passing in the post is top notch. Almost like a Kendall Marshall in the post in that he sees moves ahead of other players, He looks like the type of big you can run a lot of offense through because of that fact.
Not really a great athlete so he'll probably struggle a bit on the other side, but he's young so still time to improve..

Danged if that isn't how he plays too. I could see him at Stanford, but would like to see him at Georgetown more. |
