I don't agree. Has the program had a "real" PG in the last 40 years? If so, who? Yes, but we're sticking to the JT3 years since he is the coach and 'his "offensive system". I'm not sticking to anything. Name the "traditional" PG's that have started at GU in the past 40 years or admit you're full of .

This season couldn't get any worse. When GTown stops play BBall for the season due to early exit I got into a BBall hide out. Don't want hear or see any commentary or highlights of how disappointing the performance was. Well this season is even worse due to the fact the GTown didn't even make the tourney so I went into hiding much earlier. Didn't even watch selection show or fill out bracket. Through the grapevine I accidentally heard the Cuse made the dance. But today while looking at today's matches because I do like watching the underdogs win, I find out that Wisconsin made the dance as well. WTF!! WTF!!! Wisconsin. OMG. The JTIII discussion thread need to stop and a Player's discussion thread needs to start. The players need to look in the mirror or go to the Wizard and find some heart. I think finding that out is worse than when GTown had beaten all the team in the Final 4 that year, Duke won and they had the 1st round exit to Ohio. This season just keeping getting worse. AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH(Charlie brown scream.) Dude, no one understands what you just said. Maybe you should go back to that "BBall hide out." Sorry KcHoya for bothering you. I will go back into BBall hiding. So sorry. Can you ever forgive me.

What the hell is Chris Wright if he isn't a PG? IIRC, in hs he was a volume scorer. With Austin on the roster, he was moved to the "guard who brought the ball up the court and made the first pass". Chris Wright Draft Express Scouting ReportAs a point guard is where Wright has the most question marks projecting to the NBA, though not because he's inadequate at the college level. Wright actually does a good job in his role at Georgetown, not being a selfish player, displaying good court vision and passing ability, and finding a good balance of scoring and passing in Georgetown's offensive system, but unfortunately their Princeton Offense takes the ball out of his hands frequently and many times his role is closer to a shooting guard than point guard. I think the same thing could be said about Markel Starks, that these players were required to score more than to facilitate. By the way Kermit Davis is now on everyone's radar as the next hot coach.

My bracket is in my hand, my bracket is out of my hand, my bracket is in the dumpster... sigh I filled out my brackets in less than 3 minutes yesterday right before the tip. The only thing it has going for it today is that I picked Sparty to lose in Rd 2 anyway (to Dayton, not 'Cuse) so at least I don't have losses down the road as a result of today's madness...

MSU was picked to win in 22% of brackets this year. That loss has got to be the biggest bracket buster in tournament history as far as first round losses go.

And MSU wanted a #1! Probably the most consistent team in the NCAA over the last ten years and now they are being shown the door. Go MTSU, beat the cuse!!!

It is funny watching these talking heads almost guaranteeing a MSU-Kansas final game with MSU winning. Lunardi said MTSU scored 54 points against St. Mary's in 2013, and they will be lucky to get 54 points vs MSU this year. Hello, how about 90!

Kermit Davis was in the big time once at Texas A&M and was fired after caught recruiting the Syracuse way with Syracuse connections: www.syracuse.com/orangebasketball/index.ssf/1990/12/syracuse_basketball_under_fire_for_possible_violations_of_ncaa_rules.htmlFormer Syracuse University basketball player Tony Scott said he transferred to Texas A&M University this year in a deal brokered by a New York City talent scout who has helped steer players to Syracuse for more than 10 years. First-year Texas A&M head coach Kermit Davis Jr. promised — and in some cases delivered — extra benefits to Scott, his family and the talent scout, Rob Johnson of Queens, Scott said. Johnson told Scott he received $2,400 to work two weeks this summer at Davis' basketball camp at Texas A&M, a state university in College Station, about 90 miles northwest of Houston. Johnson said he planned to work there again next summer. "I thought he was a friend of mine, " Scott said. "It turns out that he sold me to this program." The use of a talent scout to recruit players is strictly forbidden by the National Collegiate Athletic Association, which polices athletics at more than 1,000 colleges and universities, including Texas A&M and Syracuse. Major violations of NCAA rules can result in players being declared ineligible and the suspension of entire teams from intercollegiate competition.

I think the same thing could be said about Markel Starks, that these players were required to score more than to facilitate. By the way Kermit Davis is now on everyone's radar as the next hot coach. This is from Chris' first season after graduating Georgetown.... Based on his actual play www.nba.com/dleague/news/prospect_watch_201213_week_seven.htmlChris Wright Guard | 6-1, 205 | Affiliate Player The other Chris Wright started the year off the Prospect Board because of injury concerns. He'll most likely end the year in the same place, after an NBA team plucks him away. Able to create his own shot but even better at doing the same for his teammates -- his assist percentage ranks behind only Kendall Marshall's -- there's not a more pure point in the league right now.Last Week: No. 12 www.ridiculousupside.com/2012/12/21/3790972/making-the-case-for-chris-wright-as-the-nba-d-leagues-best-point-guardIowa’s Chris Wright is the Best Point Guard in the NBADL, but you wouldn’t know it simply by looking at the latest updates to the D-League Top 30 Prospect List. The Georgetown product is listed tenth overall, behind fellow point guards Ben Uzoh (#2) and Shelvin Mack (#5). Wright is an aggressive player on offense. The 6'1" guard has a strong first step that gets him to rim. He uses his solid build and athleticism to finish strong. The 23-year-old is a serious threat in transition, where he usually draws contact or dishing it out to a teammate for an easy bucket. His impressive 40% shooting from behind the arc forces defenses to respect his perimeter play. Utilizing his excellent court vision, Wright can get the ball to open teammates, furthermore creating shots for him and others on drives and dishes. He rarely misses an open man. On defense, Wright shows the same tenacity and effort that he does on offense. He fights though screens and can pick a pocket with ease. He's an energy player who never stops working, elevating the play of those around him. As expected, Wright’s strong skill set has translated into a great start to the season. Using advanced statistical analysis, it is easy to see that he has performed ahead of his peers and is dominating the other point guards in the NBADL. Toppgs_medium Per Minute Performance (PER) is the stat with the highest correlation to getting a call-up. PER is the measurement of a players overall efficiency while on the floor. Most D-League players will see limited playing time in The Association. It only makes sense that NBA teams value players who contribute the most in limited minutes.
Among the point guards in the NBADL, Wright is second to Courtney Fortson at 17.60.
Assists Percentage (AST%) is the percentage of a teams made field goals that a player assisted. This statistic measures a player’s ability to facilitate an offense. Historically, an AST% over 25 is needed for a call-up. This threshold is no problem for Wright -- his 37.24 AST% is best in the D-League.Shooting efficiency is also important, as called up players are expected to make the most of their scoring opportunities. Effective Field Goal Percentage (eFG%) takes into account both two-point and three-point shot attempts to determine scoring efficiency. Wright is performing at a respectable 45.6%. Teams also use Turnover Percentage (TOV%) to estimate how many times a player will turn the ball over through 100 possessions. As the facilitator of the offense, a point guard must take care of the ball and limit turnovers as much as possible. Wright’s 14.62% ranks towards the lower end of the list.
The final number that cements Wright’s place at the top is the Pure Point Rating (PPR). The pure point rating is used to rate a point guard's ability to create scoring opportunities for their teammates. It values a high number of assists and a low number of turnovers.
With a rating of 4.77, Wright is well ahead of the competition: Ben Uzoh (3.37), Courtney Forston (3.03), Garrett Temple (1.82), and Shelvin Mack (1.34).This type of domination at the point guard position was seen last year, when Walker Russell Jr. received a call-up to the Detroit Pistons. Russell lit up the assist categories, and his ability to elevate the play of his teammates (AST% and PPR) helped him ultimately reach the NBA.
