You need a new schtic Eagle. Never a good look when you make back to back posts and no one responds. What is a schtic? And what about that anchor?

JT3 is incompetent as a basketball coach. He has turned this program into a laughing stock.

Think it's time.
Sad to say it. But it's time.

What would need to happen for the tired majority on this board to change the coach?
A. Could never happen since we made the Final Four in 2007 with Esh's players.
B. Could never happen because this job has more security than a Supreme Court Justice.
C. Could never happen because if we change coaches we don't know how bad it could actually get. Remember we are at a disadvantage to Kentucky and others in facilities, etc.
D. Could never happen because if we change they would have to say they were wrong.

The ways in which we lose games changes from game to game offensively. The constant: poor rebounding and defense.
That's an indictment of the coach. I'm certainly no basketball genius, and perhaps it's an oversimplification, but I'm not sure I'm too far off.

How about Mark Few? He makes < $1.4M at Gonzaga.

How about Mark Few? He makes < $1.4M at Gonzaga. He has had plenty of chances to make big money in better jobs than ours. I can't see him leaving Gonzaga for us.

How about Mark Few? He makes < $1.4M at Gonzaga. Cost of living is a lot cheaper in Spokane and he owns that town.

I would rather live in a studio apartment in D.C. than own Spokane.

Okay, children - for those of you who have been overtly or covertly calling for a change in coaching, it ain't happenin'. And that's good news for the university, however displeasing it might be to some of the more vocal fans. JT3 is a good man running a clean program with moderate on the court success during his tenure. It's okay to vent emotion, that's what Hoya Talk is all about, but you can rest assured that five years from now Eagle will still be rantin' and ravin' in every other thread. Since I'm 85 years old I may well miss a few of those.
BTW mods, is it against the board rules to call for a coaching change?

Easy, good bless you and I know you will be here to see me doing the right thing to demand we get what we deserve and not get told this is all we can be. However, when I first starting reading this I thought you would put me in the covert camp until I saw my name so you must think I'm in the overt camp. I like to think I'm fair and balanced but balanced has gone way off course around here and I'm trying to get back to center.

I Don't like losing. Who does? I do like the fact that there are some changes with the program. I like the new assistant coaches. I like that our style of play has changed a little bit and we are drawing more fouls. I like that we have a highly rated point guard coming in next year.
I was excited about this year. I felt that we were going to have a complete team. We don't. We needed a confident Copeland to complement Prior and Peak. With Copeland not playing well and now gone, we need another player to step up. I had hoped that Mulmore would avg 9-11 points per game. That's not happening. My expectations have been tempered. I am disappointed.
Am I disappointed with JTIII? I am disappointed with the whole team. At the same time, he had to coach with what he has to work with. I believe that Peak is the only remaining ESPN top 50 recruit on the team now. I could be wrong, but I believe that we have 7 players that were not even ranked in the top 100 (granted, you really should not include Prior) coming out of high school. Prior and Peak have been playing great. If either one of them struggles, we are in trouble. We are a good free throw shooting team that missed a lot the last 2 games. We have a center that shoots like Curry, but he appears hesitant to shoot most times. Copeland is gone, our point guards don't appear super confident, and we are starting to struggle from the free throw line. Derrickson played great last game. We need more of that from him. Govan needs to be told to shoot the outside shot every chance that is set and gets an open look. The point guards need to be told to drive into the lane more and either draw a foul or kick it out for a wide open 3. With a few tweeks, I think that this team can be better. Defense: We were great defensively a few years ago. Did the new fouling rule crush our defense to where we either play timid or we foul out?
Do I blame JTIII for recruiting? He appears to put in the effort. I think that every coach is going to have some good and bad luck with recruits. He missed on Anderson and Noel, but I think that it was tough for Georgetown to land players of their caliber against those schools comparing everything between schools. Now that our facilities have been brought to the 21st century, he might be able to win more recruiting battles.
I don't have my torch and pitchfork out. I do have a fear that the grass may not be greener and that we could lose Waters. If next year is more of the same, I will at least get my torch out.
The season has a lot left to be played. We just need to win one game at a time.

I know you are new here and trying to pay homage to those who will run you off but c'mon. Stop with the recruiting miss excuses and poor coach doesn't have the talent. He's had more than ample time to build this program and he's actually driven it further into the ground. You can't stop that momentum. I really think he's looking for a life raft to get out of this as he doesn't seem comfortable in press conferences as this team's leader and is struggling to coach a new system that is foreign to him.

You remind me of a little kid who wants his way and who keeps crying and lashing out at anyone who dares to keep you from getting your way. Do you actually think anyone on this board does't know you want a new coach? Are you looking for a world record on posts that say the same thing? Please don't continue to volume post the same thing on every thread. It is really annoying.
