The board rules have been in existence for years, it's nothing new. Discussion isn't off limits. Then why censor a thread about that discussion. I never called for his firing in my thread?

Any Coach deserves until the end of the season. The team is already a dumpster fire, let JT3 have a chance to right it. Firing him now would like throwing gasoline on the fire and I doubt we are a phoenix that would rise from the ashes. If we miss the NCAAs and are under .500, I'm all for starting the coaching search.

That thread was not censored, it was locked. A link to this thread, already discussing the topic, was included.

I have to say this, it's medicinal to commiserate with all of you in these times (at least those who can see this for what it is) but painful to have to face my BE friends and others who ask how we are doing sarcastically. Very painful. They laugh at what we've become and even the Hoya alums I run into who aren't as into this program don't even care anymore. The crowds in the buildings scream of the apathy.
It's why I've been banging this table hard for many seasons to change this and it's mostly fallen on deaf, very defensive ears on this board (Sorry Dan and others). Telling me I’m crazy. Good to see so many coming out to note what has been evident for the past four seasons and started before that with some of the bad tournament defeats.
For the apologists on the board, you'll likely be the last ones standing as myself and others may just lose interest as I know you are all medicated with the Hoya Pills and Kool-Aid. Not sure your end game with this but if this wasn't a deathblow to III I don't know what is.

I'm not optimistic but we are three games in.

Unlike his father, I don't believe JT3 inspires his players. He is cerebral, but passive. Not someone you want to go to battle for. The solution is to recruit motivated players. We have two coming next year, but we need more.

JTIII isn't a bad coach. But he's not a good one. So the only way we compete with the big boys is to recruit so well that we make up for our coaching deficiencies. We do not do that. So we are as mediocre as our coach.

For the apologists on this board, don't worry! Our fearless leaders on the hilltop will bury their heads in the sand just as they have for years and years. Mediocrity is one of the most popular departments. The lacrosse team alums will be more than happy to talk to anyone about what is in store for the basketball program.

After what we've been through why would anyone deserve to the end of the year? Wouldn't happen with any other normal sports team (pro or college) that expects results after what we've been through.

For some reason I no longer see the post but how is it shocking the students were chanting "Fire Thompson"? I mean isn't it time? This program is not ascending or even maintaining the status quo. It's on the decline. At some point you have to find a resolution.

It's on the decline. At some point you have to find a resolution. Dan might have deleted it as he's been doing tonight. It was warranted and normal in today's environment. Nothing disrespectful other than holding someone accountable to performance when in a very high paying job. I think the professor's at Georgetown who make a fraction of the coach are under more pressure than III.

We are a few days over one year out from the start of this thread and we are at 134 pages. If that seat isn't hot by now then he must be sitting on an block of ice.

JTIII is not a good in game coach and it showed again via the last 2 games that have come down to the last minutes where coaching and execution matter the most. Both games end up as L's and with Oregon on the horizon...definitely looking at a 1-3 start to the season or worst Anyone who states now that JTIII is not on the hot seat is not being honest with themselves.

With all due respect, I think one of the reasons the thread is so long is because you and ThisJustIn constantly post here, and then people like me respond to it. I admit I contribute by responding. But keep in mind this thread was also created not long after JT3 had gotten us into the NCAA tournament as a 4 seed and won an NCAA game before losing to a team virtually everybody agreed was better than us. There are legitimate arguments to make in favor of a "hot seat" but the thread length or starting date isn't among them.

It was news to me when they told me talking about firing the coach was not acceptable on the board even though this thread's been out there for this long. Seemed odd if they are the rules. Don't try to deflect, it is what is is is and as much as those in control will delete or bury threads on the subject doesn't change anything.

What about putting a sticky on this one to avoid the continual creation of new ones, probably warranted at this point?

Fair enough - but as to your other point, the moderators have allowed pretty free discussion on this over the last year, as evidenced by the lengthy discussions and 134 pages.
