N'Diaye's JUCO coach has been hired by Tim Floyd's USC staff. It would be a nice get if he were to sign with us.

Keeping in line with some of our famous names such as Boubacar Aw, Ruben Boumtje-Boumtje, Ya Ya Dia, Kilkenny-Diaw, and others, we have to recruit this guy on his name alone!
I say bring him on.

What are his particulars (aside from being 6'11")? Was he a JUCO all-american? Would he have two years of eligibility?

He was here this past weekend. Supposedly made a good impression and is a defensive specialist. The last overseas "defensive specialist" from the JC ranks was Godwin Owinje, who had a lot of good press... and never got off the bench.

Is it safe to assume that this kid is the younger brother of Mamadou N'diaye who played at Auburn and is a fringe NBA player?
Didn't North Carolina (not positive on the school) have a guy named Makhtar N'Diaye too?
He was in the NBA too for a little while. I think with the old Vancouver Grizzlies.

Yeah he transferred from Michigan. He played the year after Chris Webber left. A year or two later, he transferred to North Carolina.

supposedly Baylor, USC and GU in the mix. gonna be tough with coach now at USC. they have no chance of winning out there, he needs to come here. kinda glad we didn't get D. Thomas. Something wasn't right with that whole process.

I agree ID. We have a lot to offer a player like Ndiaye in terms of the tradition of developing African players (Aw, Dia, Deke, among others). Also, we offer him the exposure of a program with top 20 upside next season.

I think N'diaye is a common name in parts of Africa. I do not think he is related to any of those players.

The Gib Arnold connection will make it hard to get him from USC. However, his grades may be an issue. In the mean time, he has also visited: USC (2 wks ago), Florida State (1 week ago), us (last weekend) and Wash St this coming w'end. That's his top 4.
I think he could be the final piece to the '05 puzzle. His JUCO was National Champ and had a high-profile squad. He's no bum, tho prob no savior either.

That would be nice. Just need a solid contributer on the frontline will do fine as well.

I'm with the_way. We need a solid frontline contributor that immediately improves our rebounding and defense. An average of 7 to 10 pts wouldn't hurt.
