For what it's worth, facing Duke anytime on the first weekend would be a really bad matchup because Duke has a good chance of being placed in Charlotte. It might not be Cameron, but I will pass on playing Duke in its home state. That being said, Duke lost to Lehigh in Greensboro and Mercer in Raleigh. So it's not impossible. A complicating factor here might be that as a star player that makes it harder to beat a high seed, I'd take Jahlil Okafor over Austin Rivers (2012) or Jabari Parker (2014).

I have no idea why you deleted your other posts, but then again, I also fail to see why we would not be able to handle a team that has lost to Butler, Iowa and Pitt -- so they have their share of losses similar to ours, and whose only real big wins are a 1 point win over the Ville at home and nice but early neutral court win over Ohio State. I mean, maybe they are constantly bringing their "C" game, but there's really no indication that this team is out of our league. Agreed, I exaggerated. I did attend grad school at UNC, which may explain my signifcant bias a day or two after the Duke game. But, I can own up to my own false logic and with the way UNC is slumping right now there is no question they would likely lose to the Hoyas playing their "B" game, Roy Williams is definitely not getting what he should out of that team. I still maintain that I do not like the match-up with their frontcourt bigs and athleticism. They remind too much of teams that have beaten the Hoyas this season, I could think of many other teams I would rather face, but no, it would not be certain doom to play them.

Nice win by St John's-- crucial for their ncaa hopes. As of now I think they're in. With Xavier's win at cincy this week I think big east may get 6 in.
Also cuse lost today. Always of some interest...

I think we're rooting for a Xavier win here, right? They still have a desperate Johnnies team and Nova while Butler has Marquette and Depaul plus another head-to-head with us. Everyone in the running for 2nd place would be with 5 losses and a win tonight puts us in the #2 spot. We'd have the opportunity to hold on to it for good if we can play with some consistency down the stretch as Providence is at Nova on Tuesday and still have Butler who should have Chrabascz back by then.
