Agree with the notion that winning cures most ills. The problem I have is how to define winning with this interim, patchwork team. We need to generate some excitement and exceed expectations, but what exactly would be considered exceeding exceptions? Making the tournament, sure, but would something less than that exceed expectations?

Miles Oliver 3* guard out of Etiwanda California I'm aware but he's qualified for 17 and we don't know what year the offer is for....

Here's a write up on Oliver from last spring..
8. Miles Oliver, Etiwanda (Etiwanda) 6-1, 170 lbs.
Breakdown: An explosive playmaker, Oliver has a nice combination of scoring, shooting, ball-handling and strength to run a collegiate team. He excels in the open court while creating scoring opportunities for teammates and himself and has the ability to hit the jump shot with solid consistency.
One of Oliver’s best traits is breaking down defenders by changing direction with a strong crossover, but he must work on removing the over-dribbling and improve his pick-and-roll game.
Recruitment: Oliver is a LM to MM- prospect who just needs to polish up his game in the half court and finish strong in the classroom to have a chance to excel at the next level. He’s done a lot of maturing over the past two years.

I agree with you and nyc...especially on the 3 ships...Jarreau's bio pre college says he makes good decisions, doesn't force things, gets to the basket well and finishes...sets up his teammates (thus high assist #s)...at 6'5 would be an excellent lead guard to start in '18...Gresham may now be close to 6'9 and is already a pretty accomplished shot blocker, and both guys are very athletic and can grow/get better...what is the attraction with Creighton (not that they're not a good program)...but why do they lead...I would think with Kirby's prior relationship, a chance to play for a HOF er, likely starting spot for Jarreau and meaningful available pt for Gresham, not to mention DC vs. Omaha, Neb., we'd be pretty damn attractive to them...here's hopin'... @jonrothstein UMass transfers Dejon Jarreau and Brison Gresham will visit Houston on July 22nd, per a source.

We need to reach out to him ASAP! He's been heavily rumored to Maryland for over a month once he got his release. I'd be stunned if he doesn't end up there.

People have told me this kid is an NBAer. I have not seen him, apparently he's a late bloomer.

Just wondering if you think that's because UMD, Turgeon, Broadus, or other reasons? Not 100% sure who he has the connection with. Connecting the dots, I would assume Broadus. But again, his release has been in the works for a minute.

Would love to see him come aboard...he'd have a beautiful and immediate opportunity here, not as much at MD regardless of how they may couch it...obviously, a very meaningful recruit for us..fingers crossed.
