Things seem to be moving quickly on this one. Who's on campus today - isn't today one of the few open periods this month? I read about one of our coaches in Philly at UAA this morning. Wish we had the luxury of waiting a few days to bring him in to show him the whole staff.

July is a dead period, however there are evaluation periods on the weekends for coaches to watch these tournaments without face-to-face interaction. |

I don't like him seeing us first, then going to MD...especially since they were rumored to be the odds on favorite...(
(does anyone know why?)...in looking at MD's roster as to who he would compete against, bring me up to date...I think they have
a couple of returning forwards and a top 60ish SF from NC coming in 18 and Jalen Smith who may play some 4/3 because he's very thin...am I missing anybody?
We offer an immediate starting opportunity...thoughts?

For whatever reason I don't like our chances here. Seems like he'd get serious starter minutes at both Maryland and Georgetown. Maybe he'll like the fact that he'll be the best player on our roster from day one but I don't know. |

My guess: he has been a lock for Maryland since he decided to decommit from his original school. He needed to visit at least one other school to provide cover from the likely reality that he talked with maryland prior to officially decommitting (which is probably pretty common practice but still against the letter of the law). We are close to Maryland and close to home, so we make a viable "cover" school to visit before then going to Maryland and formally announcing his decision to go there.
Sorry to be so pessimistic but this seems like the some version of the most likely scenario.

247 Maryland insider thinks he will commit to Maryland this weekend. He's got good local sources. Not holding my breath.

Pretty sickening scenario...so did MD recruit him last year, is that the connection?...and if so, he chose Ole Miss over MD? I don't quite get the
reasoning as to why he's such a lock, and I wonder how the SF they just got from NC for 18 feels about being recruited over...if he goes to MD and just used us
my response is, get somebody better...if he chooses us, welcome aboard...

I pretty much check this site everyday and I don't remember seeing this kids name once in the past. Now he decommits and I'm suppose to believe that we are real candidates with all of the changes that have occurred over the last few months. I will love to be wrong but nothing says that he will choose GTown unless someone close to him is a huge fan of the program........imo |

He's been heavily rumored to Maryland for over a month once he got his release. I'd be stunned if he doesn't end up there. Just wondering if you think that's because UMD, Turgeon, Broadus, or other reasons? Apparently Dustin Clark is leading on this for MD and has done a great job closing. I would love to be wrong because he's a real talent and could start for us, but like I said, this has been the worst kept secret in local recruiting for a while now. |

Honestly, if that's the case and this is such a foregone conclusion, and has been for over a month, why would our staff even waste their time bringing him to campus...so that we can be bitch slapped again by MD? What exactly does that accomplish, if not more frustration in the fanbase...and who the hell is this great closer Dustin Clark...never heard of the guy...maybe you guys are really MD fans in disguise...nevermind, long day...
