I assume he's just testing the waters, seeing where he stacks up, what he needs to improve on, etc.

Good for Brandon, but I doubt he gets a first round guarantee. But it will be good for him to hear from NBA types what his game is missing.
Here's hoping he listens to the NBA folks and not others.

Not much choice - we have to hold it for Bowman until he signs with an agent and sacrifices his eligibility. I don't think it will come to that. I read Chad Ford, Draft City, and a bunch of other stupid websites that deal in NBA draft rumours and innuendo. And BB NEVER gets mentioned. Now, he should, because he will play in the NBA. But he has no national profile right now. This is essentially a freebie for him, in that he gets some press, gets to work out for some teams, MAYBE gets an invite to the Chicago camp (I doubt it), and generally raise his profile. MAYBE some team falls in love and gives him a first round promise - it's a possibility - but I think it's something of a longshot. Brandon is a smart kid, I don't think he'd make an Omar Cooke sort of mistake. If he's gone - OUCH. Maybe we add Brandon Rush and hardly skip a beat!

in today's market it is almost expected that even a borderline prospect test the water if anything for the purpose of getting his name out there for next year. I would not read too much into this

Like you guys, I'm assuming he's just going to see what the league is looking for, and find out what he needs to work on...
Smart move...
I think he definitely has NBA talent, but I don't think his 'game' has reached that level yet...
I wish him luck no matter what he decides.

Here's hoping they tell him this: 1)you need to work on your ball handling and be better at the dribble drive to the hoop. 2)You need to add the pull up jumper to your arsenal 3)while you're at it attaining more of a post up game would be great considering your height 4)you need to get stronger and finish around the rim better

I think it's smart and helps kids get a better guage of their abilities and what NBA people think of their game, what needs to be improved. Hassan Adams is going to be there as well and many expect him to return. He and Brandon are close friends from playing in HS together at Westchester. If anything, most players improve a great bit when they hear the truth from the Scouts/NBA personnel. I think it's a smart move and can really help Brandon his SR season. With that said, if he is strictly focused on NBA and it's going to be something that distracts him, he should leave because team doesn't need someone worried about individual things when team needs improvement. Chris Thomas always flirted with NBA and see how it helped his game/team? Brandon's got an opportunity to use this experience to help him but for his sake, be realistic and know the truth about your game--not just good things they like. I'd venture he'll hear this from many people: "Like your frame/length at the SF/SG position. Improved your jumper from deep, but would like to see better handle, more consistent mid-range game, and if you can lead your team". If used properly, this could be best thing for Brandon's game his SR year, and if not, then I wish him best, and hope he gets selected/makes a team.

If he does stay in the draft SOMEHOW and sopmeone gives him a first round promise then we are kind of in trouble next year unless we get Rush or Egerson or Spann mold into our offense. Then, I guess Jeff will turn into the #1 player on the court for us.

Just heard the same thing on DC Channel 4 with George Michaels but he did not mention the "no agent" part.
My opinion: Brandon is not now and probably never will be NBA material. With his slight frame he would have to become a much better outside and mid-range shooter and driver to the basket to be ready for NBA. It's possible he could develop that but shooting is a tough skill to develop after three years of college ball. Usually that type of shooting skill comes earlier. Having said that, he did get better at his shots this year. And I hope I am wrong.
I also wonder if the Princetown offense, in his opinion, was stifling his development for the pros who rely so much on one-on-one.
I also hope that this is not an indication of discontent on the team.
I know many will disagree with my assessment of Brandon (some have already disagreed), but that's okay. One of us will ultimately be proven right or wrong.

Well if he does leave, that means we need to make sure DJ returns. And Crawford will start also I figure but I can see Sapp starting also. So I'm not to mad if he goes

I would bet all of my Hoyatalk pool winnings that Bowman is doing this solely for the experience and will be returning next season. It also wouldn't surprise me if he has told III as much. Hopefully, this will prove to be a valuable experience for him, and beneficial to the team next season.

sports-att.espn.go.com/ncb/player/profile?playerId=12052His shooting has OBVIOUSLY improved every year at Georgetown. His turnovers per minute have gone down every year. He has clearly gained weight and added muscle. He obviously needs to work on his game, but he has prototypical NBA size at the 3, and certainly has the run-jump athleticism. This makes perfect sense for Brandon's longterm prospects, and we have every reason to believe he'll be back. I won't blame him if he gets a good response and stays in either, I just don't expect it to happen. As a freshman or soph, after some tough years, he had every opportunity to jump ship, but he hung around. I think it will work out for everyone next year.

I think he will be back like all of you guys also because I remember reading a quote from his in late February talking about how most of his friends from Westchester have been in the NCAA Tourney and he is diing to be in it. I think he sees if he comes back next year and works out this summer, that we have a tough team next year or can go far into March and he can experience the thrill of March Madness.

No one here wants him to go pro, and I doubt anyone thinks it'd be a good idea for him to do so right now. But let's not take this occassion to start bashing our best offensive player and a guy who has played his heart out through some pretty trying times at Georgetown. That's all I'm saying.

I saw Brandon at around 5 this afternoon standing outside of GU hospital with what looked like medical papers in his hands. I wondered if he was getting treatment for an injury. Perhaps he was there for a physical.

Understandable that we shouldn't bash him, but I will question this decision. By looking at his play, you cannot say he is ready for the NBA, and I honestly don't even know if he would get drafted. He could end up in the NBDL or something crappy like that. There's no question here that he should stay.
