Seems like they are having issues with keeping stats this weekend as they Jaren listed in the box score with 19pts but posted on this tweet that he finished with 13 points. After the Keldon Johnson/Tyler Foster box score issues, I'm not sure what post is right.

Tough weekend for Jaren Jackson Jr. and his Indy Spiece team in the final EYBL stop in Atlanta. In the last opportunity to clinch a spot in Peach Jam, Indy Spiece entered the weekend with a very solid 8-3 EYBL record, 1 game behind Team Penny and a very good chance to win their EYBL Division. After a 1-4 weekend, Indy Spiece lost an automatic bid falling from tied for 2nd in their Division to 6th place with a 9-7 record (top 5 teams of each division gets the automatic bids). Now the Spiece await to here if they will get a Wild Card bid to Peach Jam.
Selfishly it it might be good for Georgetown if the Spiece and Jaren Jackson Jr. didn't play in Peach Jam so teams like Kentucky, UNC, Kansas, Arizona and Duke don't try and jump in late trying to take his attention and try and poach him as all eyes will be at Peach Jam. I actually think Jaren Jackson Jr. opting to sign late only helps us in our pursuit. It will give him an opportunity to see this current team in action and if team can more than exceed the woefully poor national expectations and challenge for the Conference championship and be nationally ranked, it would only help our pursuit of Jaren Jackson Jr. Getting back to Peach Jam, more than likely they will get a Wild Card Bid to Peach Jam so Jackson will play in the summers top Shoe Circuit Tournament in front of all the College Basketball Coaches.

Maryland stands in a good place with several 5 star sf's/pf's for the class of the 2017. If they land any 5 star in either position I would hope that pushes them out of contention for playing time's sake.

Alabama could be a threat. Avery Johnson has a good relationship with the father. I think they may be running 2nd right now but that is just a guess. He keeps saying he wants to wait until December or January to make a decision. I don't think the pre-conference schedule is gonna weigh heavily in his decision. I think he pops before his senior season in the end.

"Jaren Jackson, PF, Spiece Indy Heat: In a matter of a year, 2017 Park Tudor (IN) combo forward Jaren Jackson has gone from virtual unknown to priority recruit for high-major programs. With some impressive performances over the course of the spring, the 6-foot-9 athlete jumps up 40 spots to No. 26 on our board.
Jackson took off this spring, averaging 17.1 points, 6.9 rebounds, and 2.1 blocks per game on the EYBL circuit. He has length, size, and athleticism and can play both forward spots. His versatility and high ceiling is something to track going forward. Jackson has proved he is a reliable threat for behind the arc, but he is also more than capable of scoring at the rim, too."

All I could focus on was the leisurely jog back to defense after a made basket but JTIII would help with that ;-)

With Lykes off the board, JJJ should be the undisputed top priority. I can deal with missing on Lykes, but this one is a must-have.

Jackson is great, but is there any real positive buzz here? Other than the fact that his dad went to Georgetown, any real reason to think we may be able to win this one? He's 6'10 and a high 4-star type whose stock is rising. Potential to be an All-American. I don't know that I've heard any real chatter that Georgetown is a leader or is well-positioned in this recruitment, which makes me wary of labeling him "a must have." His continuing to list us may just be a courtesy to his father's alma. While I'm certainly in favor of pushing for him if we can, until there's some real news to show that he's serious about us, I think you put him in the same bucket as a guy like Ivan Rabb--guys who are great and who Hoyatalk gets excited about because we're listed, but guys who also never really seem to like us quite as much as our fans like them.
I don't want to be too much of a downer, but labeling a guy like this as "must get" seems like setting yourself up for more disappointment. While I hope we continue to stay in his recruitment just in case, it's also important that we're focusing on guys who we legitimately have a shot at--someone like Antwan Walker, maybe.

My opinion on this matter is this, if Coach can't convince a legacy recruit like JJJ to come to GU (with both parents as alumni, former player and assistant coach), then JT3 is the problem not the solution. When you look at the level of recruits we are pursuing this year, predominantly out of the top 100 (don't hate me for looking at rankings) getting JJJ does look like a must get to me.
