The Panthers feature 6'10" Jaren Jackson Jr. dominating the inside and surrounded by several good three-point shooters. Jackson was a force on both ends against Beech Grove: blocking shots and rebounding on defense, while scoring or drawing fouls in the post on offense. Park Tudor shot 20-for-24 at the free throw line.

Is he growing into the center position now? Been saying for a while he looks more like a Center than a SF... One things for sure he looks like a difference maker on the defensive end once he gets strong enough to hold his own on the college level

And I think with the way college basketball is changing (officiating, shorter shot clock, many teams playing more perimeter players), it makes sense to go after bigs that are more versatile and athletic. And how nice would it be to actually have a legit rim protector again?!

Maryland insiders seem to think they are in pretty good with him. The Big Ten has to be appealing to a midwest kid.

After this past season I think we all can appreciate good defense. Say what you want about Jaren Sr's shooting ability but it was his defense that kept him in the league. We desperately need a defensive stopper.

This would be a betrayal. Nonsense. He gets to make his own choices. He doesn't have to do what his dad did. Seriously I don't get the mindset of some people. He doesn't owe Georgetown a thing. His dad does; he doesn't.

I agree. I can't even fathom having my son play for Syracuse. Just wouldn't allow it

Maybe you're being sarcastic, I don't know. But the notion that any kid (and we are talking about a kid) should have to follow what his parents did is just a little...sick.

His dad does; he doesn't. He does get to make up his own mind but if JJ did his job certain school should not be in the discussion. I'm not a GTown grad so I have different schools that I loathe than the Gtown grads but my oldest son knows at the age of 13 the schools he can't attend. No question. If he is a basketball player he can't go to Duke, Nova. UK or Cuse.......If he is a football player he can't go to UVA, USC, or Bama........that leaves hundreds of schools to choose from and I would wear the teams colors without question..........

He can go to any school he wants as long as it isn't Syracuse or Maryland. The fact this needs to explained to a Hoya fan is sad.

JJ was a player for the Hoyas. He doesn't share the hate for UMD as a lot of fans do. Rivalries are usually fan inspired anyway. Players don't care as much. UMD was never a conference foe. Look at it from a parent's perspective, not a fan's.

PE Jr chose IU the first time around. Nobody wanted Riyan or Alonzo Jr. They wouldn't be here if it weren't for their fathers. Really poor examples. JJ Jr is a top recruit.

We are fans. We expect the players to be fans too. What's wrong with that? And yes, as a fan, I would absolutely hate it for my son to play for MD or Cuse. Would I prevent him? No. Would I try to dissuade him? Absolutely.

They could have gone to any school at any level. Yet they choose Georgetown. I honestly wouldn't have begrudged them going to any school, be it Indiana or somewhere else. Just not SU or CP.
