adding to the speculation train, DSR definitely says about Jabril and Joshua that "We'll have them back soon enough" at 0:58 in the pre-game interview:

This from the two who were basically driving the "Whittington could still return this semester" bandwagon well into February. That Greg Whittington bus was still being driven all up to the tip off of the FGCU in March Madness last year. I definitely do not remember personally saying that Greg would be back after being declared ineligible and I'd be surprised if anyone did. I think his situation was different from Josh's and once the school made an official announcement it was clear he was done for the year. But who know's maybe I and other's did. I certainly don't remember anyone talking about Greg once our win streak started.

Word on the Gtown street is that he's done for the year. Probably expected at this point... I heard the same thing after he missed the 1st game.. People will believe want they want to. If that's true, then logically what is the hold up? Why hasn't there been an announcement if he is done for the year? People hold out hope that he may be back because there is no need to drag it out unless he has a chance to be back.

We have had so many of these ups and downs lately, I am resisting the temptation to board the speculation train.

It wasn't even an issue whether he was coming back because we all knew he had failed to show up for his final.

But people will believe what they want to.

What DSR could have easily been saying as well, is that "We hope" to have them back soon.

What DSR could have easily been saying as well, is that "We hope" to have them back soon. IF DSR knew that Joshua was gone for the season he wouldn't even say that. So at the very least DSR doesn't know for sure that Joshua is already gone for the season yet some random Joe like TJIHoyas is positive that Joshua is shelved for the year. DSR seems like a much more credible source of information than TJIHoyas.

Hope Hayes gets some run. Let's see some Hayes at 5, Hops at 4, Cameron, DSR and Markel. It cannot be worse than what we're seeing and Hops is better at the 4. He rebounds now too.

Let's assume smith does return, for arguments sake. Does he solve a lot of our problems? Does the addition of another scorer draw attention away from our guards enough to open up the offense?

I mean, this is just indicative of poor planning/recruiting. What if Smith had never transferred? This is the roster we would've been dealing with anyway.

As recently as 14 months ago, no reason to think we wouldn't have both Porter and Whittington on this roster. That would change the look of it just a bit....
