I'm not sure 7:30 is prime time on New Year's Eve. The whole day is great. What an awesome start to the season. Stupid stuff like this is easy to hype, which is what it is all about for Fox and the Big East. Already a better start than anything I've seen on the MM network for a season opener.

So right now for out of conference we have (1) Kansas, (2) Oregon, (3) Rhode Island, and likely (4) K. State and (5) VCU/Michigan. Am I missing anything?

According to the main page, we're also playing the University of Texas - El Paso. Last year, the were ranked 111 on KenPom, so they were a decent team. This is already a better schedule than last year's. I sincerely hope they avoid the RPI 250-350 type opponents. One or two around exam time might be fine, but they don't help the team develop all that much and there is big downside - it hurts our RPI, and if we ever lost to a team like that, it would be horrible. In contrast, if we can get teams in the 100-200 RPI range, it helps our strength of schedule, and if we happen to lose to a team like that, it's the difference between a bad loss and a horrendous loss (like Towson would have been last year). We also should be able to pretty easily beat those types of teams (unless it's March).

Seoul is 13 hours ahead of Eastern US time. November 8th being a Friday this is going to potentially make for some really horrible viewing possibilities for those of us back home. I guess the best we can hope for is a morning start local time and a late night for us.

Does anyone know if the team gets additional practice time related to the travel and early season game?

Does anyone know if the team gets additional practice time related to the travel and early season game? Not to my knowledge, but everyone gets to start practice 2 weeks earlier this year.

Road trip!
Well, then again, maybe not. My firm does have an office in Seoul, but I don't think I'll be going there.

NBA schedules were just released so now the Verizon center knows the times and dates for the Wizards & Capitals. Can't imagine its too much longer before we get some dates for the Hoyas.

Commissioner said schedule would be released in the next few weeks, yesterday. This was obviously the last major hurdle.

DFW put up a nice calendar on the front page which shows available dates for home games.

Casual Hoya reporting rumors of a game against Michigan State in NYC as part of Fox's Super Bowl Weekend sports coverage. That would be a good out of conference game, and a rare one that falls during the conference schedule. I hope it happens. Obviously, we should hope that Fox Sports 1 gets some ad time and promotion during the Super Bowl, which is about the best platform you could have for advertising other sports.

They will be playing in a Fox doubleheader at the Garden vs Michigan State the day before the Super Bowl. St. John's/ Marquette will be the other game. The Knicks/Heat game will be later that night. www.mlive.com/spartans/index.ssf/2013/08/source_michigan_state_to_play.html

"Michigan State was able to add another power conference opponent to go along with showdowns against Kentucky in Chicago (Nov. 12), North Carolina at home (Dec. 4) and on the road at Texas (Dec. 21)."
Power conference.

Power conference. Yes, power conference. We should get 4 or more teams into the tourney every year. That's more than the Pac 12 is likely to get. As far as the game goes....according to Dickie V....its a match up between the #2 ranked team in the preseason versus #33. Josh is going to have to have a monster game for us to win.

I wonder if Fox is planning to include Big East games in its Sunday night college hoops broadcasts.
