The season ticket thread got me thinking - what's our overall schedule going to look like next year?
To the best of my recollection, I believe we are playing at Kansas next year, and we are participating in the Puerto Rico Shootout, which I think takes place mid-November, the week of or before Thanksgiving.
I'll try to keep this updated as we hear of more games and dates:
TBA: 7-8 more games TBA: at Kansas TBA: Puerto Rico Shootout (3 games) TBA: Butler (2 games) TBA: Creighton (2 games) TBA: DePaul (2 games) TBA: Marquette (2 games) TBA: Providence (2 games) TBA: Seton Hall (2 games) TBA: St. John's (2 games) TBA: Villanova (2 games) TBA: Xavier (2 games)
Feel free to discuss and post in this thread as more information arrives.

Also, the other teams participating in the Puerto Rico Shootout are: Auburn, Charlotte, Florida State, Kansas State, Long Beach State, Michigan, and VCU. www.puertoricotipoff.com/home/press/press-releases/184Looks like this tournament will be broadcast by ESPN, so we'll have at least these games on one of their networks.

Will this be the yearly trip for your crew?

Could we be in the mix for the Jimmy V Classic? It looks like the field for Coaches vs. Cancer is already set, but only Florida is confirmed out of the 4 teams for Jimmy V.
Due to JT3's interest in the cause, perhaps, it seems like we make an effort to get into one of these if we can each year.

Fingers crossed on a trip to the Patriot Center. It would be a free Hoyas game for me.

Can we be in two early-season tournaments?

Can we be in two early-season tournaments? Isn't the Jimmy V classic just two separate games, not a tournament?

we need a few good OOC games at the booth to reward the season tickholders I know we got Kansas for a home and home series. But I don't know of any other OOC marque games that will be played in D.C.

Will this be the yearly trip for your crew? How can we not try for the Kansas game as our yearly trip? The timing for the game stinks but I can't wait to visit Lawrence. Rock. Chalk. Hoya.

Can we be in two early-season tournaments? Isn't the Jimmy V classic just two separate games, not a tournament? Correct, like the BB&T is not a "real" tournament. With that said, who knows, maybe we're the TBD opponent that GMU will face in what would then be the marquee game?

Related question: does anyone have a ballpark idea of how much it will cost to get in to Allen Fieldhouse?

To play us? If you donate to the HHC a reasonable amount, you can get tickets at face from the HHC. Otherwise, you can help pay for some fat scalper's habits. I'd rather give it to the HHC. Also I can get some HHC tickets, if I decide to go.

Any scuttlebutt as to when we go to Phog Allen? Nov? Dec? Need to build up "capital" reserves now.

Just a guess, but Kansas figures to be a late November/early December game to allow for the Puerto Rico tournament followed by exams.
Related to schedules, there is Internet chatter that Syracuse signed up Villanova for a 2 for 1 deal, with the third game as a Syracuse home game at MSG. I think Georgetown is too smart for that shell game, and it's a recognition by the Orangemen that they are not seriously pursuing series that do not provide them some sort of scheduling advantage. Boeheim (or Hopkins) can pound sand if they think Georgetown needs to play them going forward.
If Georgetown could pursue these four tracks for a non-conference slate I think it would be a positive step:
1. Maryland. Yes, I think the time is right to discuss trading the Orangemen for the Terrapins. UMD will be shut out of games vs. the ACC and there's no absolute guarantee that the eastern flank of the Big 10 has the same fan loyalty. Home and home, guarantee each school a minimum number of seats, and schedule it before exams start.
2. Connecticut. As long as they're canine non grata for the ACC, the Huskies need better games than the AAC will engender. It's a rivalry game that makes sense, inasmuch as Georgetown has not played any ACC expatriates going forward (even BC, a rivalry that predated the Big East but which has been DOA since they left) and the BE schools into the AAC (Cinc, South Florida) don't carry the same interest.
3. Big 12. The two year Kansas deal is a strong addition, which could be followed up with two with Texas and rotate the two schools over a four year period--good for recruiting, good for TV.
4. SEC. The Tennessee game wasn't a great game but it was a very good opponent. Maybe Florida or Vanderbilt comes back into the discussion, or perhaps revisit the LSU rivalry of the past with a series, with the home game in New Orleans rather than Baton Rouge.
The early JTIII schedules were always forward looking: Illinois, Vanderbilt, Michigan, Oregon, even Davidson. Even Old Dominion was a better challenge for this team that the IUPUI's and NJIT's of the world. The Big East RPI will take a step back and it's important to maintain visibility in december, because ESPN will surely place the cone of media silence on the BE once they play games on Fox.
